My AEW experience. One show at a time.

The price of a brick goin up…
I’ve always been a fan of AEW. Back when I wasn’t watching any wrestling in 2018 I remember the rumblings of the All In PPV Cody and the Young Bucks had and I was excited for it. Once I found out AEW would be a real thing I got more hype. WWE for me was almost unwatchable and I never was a big TNA fan. While I wasn’t watching I kept tabs on em. A lot of the big matches I wanted to see involving Omega, Jericho, Cody and the rest I would catch on YouTube. I could tell they were putting out something different.

I really didn’t start getting back into WWE until we got close to Mania 38. By then I wanted to watch AEW as well but time had passed so much it felt like I was gonna be lost watching what they had going on then compared to when they started. I still kept tabs and came extremely close to watching regularly when CM Punk arrived.

Now that we are deep in the TKO era of WWE things have changed. I still will watch WWE I can’t see myself not doing it, and while it looks like post Mania they are making adjustments with new call ups and such… I’m not completely convinced things will turn for the better just yet. With that said, I decided to go back to the start of AEW and watch everything. All the PPVs, starting with Double or Nothing 2019 which I’m watching right now. All the shows, even during the pandemic era. By the way I’ve never watched a second of the pandemic era WWE shows so this is gonna be an experience. I wanna see what I’ve missed cuz I’ve never watched a AEW show from start to finish. I’ll give my quick reviews along the way and at the end of it all see just how much things changed for better or worse. Should be fun.

Double or Nothing 2019 was a really damn good PPV. Very few complaints, gotta give AEW some grace tho at this point they were just starting and trying to get their feet under them. Not a bad match to speak of tho. Some spot fest matches but nothing overbooked IMO. Cody vs Dustin is a classic. Omega vs Jericho wasn’t as great as I thought it would be but still solid. Overall I’m looking forward to what’s to come.

4.5 out of 5
