COMMUNITY Men's Health Thread... Absolutely NO TROLLING

I had to be put to sleep for hernia surgery. Honestly didn’t think twice about being put to sleep lol. They hit me with the anesthesia and I don’t even remember going out. Just remember waking up woozy was hell but feeling fine.

At least until that shit wore off and the pain came in like a flood, lol. Was popping pills for a few days which helped.

Same. My hernia was in my navel, shit would pop out and I would have to push it back. Sometimes I could pop it back in without issue, sometimes it would be so painful I'd drop a tear. Wound up in the hospital over it a couple of times and that's when the decision was made to have surgery. My ass was nervous as fuck going under, but they had me count backwards from 10 and I think I remember getting to 5 then waking up in the recovery room.

I was popping naproxen twice a day 'cause the pain was so fuckin' bad after the anesthesia wore off completely.

I feel like if I answer this youre gonna make another fuckin joke lol.

I am. let me remind you niggas the thread title says no trolling 😒
You right. Just trying to lighten your mood with some jokes.

You’ll be ok though, nothing to worry about. This shit is like second nature to these people. It’s so routine they’re more worried about what they having for lunch than the procedure going wrong.

Aite circling back to this damn thread lol. so I was trying to be proactive since they said black men should be checked for colonoscopies and all that since stats show we might get them problems younger than 45. I never been under anesthesia before so I was freaking out about it in the lead up to everything clearly...

I know out here is different so they aint give the results the same day I had to wait like a week or so, so my mind was going all sorts of places and thinking the worst. They said im good tho and dont need to be checked again for like another 7-10 years or so.

That anesthesia shit aint like the movies or shows. I thought I was gonna drift off slowly.. nah nigga.. I aint even know they turned the tap on.. they were talking to me one minute and the next thing I know im waking the fuck up. I aint like that shit at all. Im glad I wasnt too groggy or goofy like you see people in videos where they just saying random shit all intoxicated

I'll rather anesthesia then not for the procedure
Yeah I aint wanna be awake for that.. I was just nervous about being put to sleep. I was like what if they give me too much anesthetic.. what if im allergic.. what if I dont wake up etc.

Much ado about nothing and im glad it was routine but I was still freaking out about it lol

I got one done in 2024. My doctor recommended it because there's a history of colon cancer in my family. Hell my Dad had it 2x. The worst part was the prep and eating that terrible broth the day before.

Funny enough my doctor today just gave me a referral to get mine checked out cuz of some stomach issues i been having. I've had a hernia since I was born and never got it taken care of.

Yeah, my mother told me that I had one in the same spot when I was born, but they fixed it. I'm like "How do I get to be almost 50 before finding this out???!!!"

I heard so many stories about the drink they give you and how terible it is so I told them give me the tablets/pills instead.

Had to take 12 pills in the evening and 12 in the morning. And drink alooooot of water. I could not leave the house yo 😅
