There was such an opportunity to explore such a complex, flawed human being. They touch on it here and there but then we're taken to another highlight reel of his career over and over. They really made Joe Jackson to be a true villain in this film. I will say that Jafaar Jackson killed it playing his uncle, truly embodied him

Which if I want to watch some classic Michael Jackson performances I’ll go to YouTube not a carbon copy. A very good carbon copy but still. Would’ve been better as a documentary or a celebration of his life with his peers putting on performances of his music. But whatever.

Initial reaction coming out of the theater is a 7/10. It was fun if you're a fan of Michael Jackson. It was safe, it was entertaining though.
