Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax's wife, Cerina Fairfax, evidently felt the need to beef up the amount of security measures taken inside their house before Thursday's apparent murder-suicide ... she set up a bunch of cameras in the home.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis told reporters outside the family's Annandale, VA home Thursday that they first became aware of the cameras in January when they were used to discredit Justin's claims that Cerina assaulted him.

Now, those same cameras have been used to corroborate the details of Thursday's shooting.

The couple was separated but living together, according to the documents we obtained, which police also confirmed today.

Chief Davis said, "I know he was served some paperwork recently. Apparently, the paperwork indicated when he was next to appear in court. That may have been a spark and detectives will figure that out that that led to this tragedy here."

It's a stressful situation for everyone involved and even when my ex was trying to fuck me over, I still was trying to make sure I wasn't making decisions based on emotions

I could never imagine me doing what he did to my ex but I know that separated but still in the house shit didn't work for me especially when the decision is it's unable to be worked out

Examples like this are why people like Colion are wrong why their "gun rules shouldn't be a thing for law abiding citizens" ideas kinda fall flat. I don't know what the best route is, but it's not just lifelong criminals killing people with guns. That has to be acknowledged before you can intelligently address the problems with gun control.

The nigga also left the crib with it which sparked a whole search for him (he was found in a park with the gun). There were domestic abuse allegations, but apparently his wife never filed charges against him for that. The judge in the divorce case even noted that dude was sliding into a dark place.

Guess what? Even a misdemeanor DV charge would have prevented him from legally buying a gun. The judge should have tripped the red flag statute to have him evaluated to have his gun taken from him.

Laws only work when the things that need to happen, actually happen. Wife should have pressed DV charges and the judge should have pressed the button to start the process of having his gun taken. The laws are in place that could have prevented him from using a gun to kill his wife.

Having said that, nothing would have prevented him from stabbing her up with a knife then offing himself like these two did:

Sure, it's still whataboutism. If the conversation is "what can we do to reduce gun violence?" There's no point in deflecting to knife violence. Your answer of "execute the laws and processes in place correctly" is a good answer.

"Whataboutism" is a cop out and you're better than that (I'm being serious).

The conversation is about a man murdering his wife, you introduced the whole gun aspect of it which I responded to but also pointed out that there's still a huge possibility that she could have been killed anyways even if the whole legal apparatus had worked as intended and removed his ability to legally buy a gun and possess one; it just would have happened with a different instrument.

Clearly he wanted to kill her, the instrument used is irrelevant.
