Does getting the 5th seed matter so much over the 6th seed if you’re going to lose in the 1st round regardless?

Or is it like because it’s been rough the past few years so you care more than normal about a higher seed?

It’s probably the latter which is fine I’m just curious

It's neither.

I think we match up better vs the cavs than we do the knicks.

But more importantly if we slide to 6 we might end up in a tie with the 76ers who hold the tiebreaker and we would slide to the play in. So the goal is to stay above the Hawks or tie them in which case we hold the tiebreaker.

If we lose in the first round we lose. No one is expecting the raptors to go on a deep playoff run. The goal is forward motion which has been achieved this season. Now we see what we have in a playoff setting and try to address what we don't in the offseason and keep going.

Im not expecting much the next 2-3 yrs. I anticipate this team having a 1st-2nd round ceiling over that time and trying to strike when players become available through trade.
