For me personal it's Em >>> Jay far as overall catalog/impact in hip-hop.

Off the strength of their first 3 albums Jay beats Em easily. I think Vol. 1 & Slim Shady LP are the weakest of the 3 albums respectively in that list.

MMLP & The Eminem Show are classics.
Reasonable Doubt & Vol. 2 are classics.

What impact did Jay Z have when he first came out? Jay didn't really blow up until after BIG died. The album that pushed him into the mainstream was Vol. 2.

I hate how niggas act like every album Jay dropped between '96 - 03 (his prime run) was just absolute gold when he has hit & miss albums just like anyone.

Depends on how I feel that day. Them Jay albums got gradually worse but that doesn’t mean they aren’t bangers. “Worse” is to the standard RD set.

Eminem Show I think the better album from start to finish, but I wouldn’t hate on anyone who says it’s not.
