Who's At Fault: The School Or The Parent?

Both.

Moreso the parent. But the school seriously needs to be shut down. I posted this last week, I've never even heard of this school, and everybody was tearing her up in the comments, and should be embarrassed, not angry.

And again, I've never even heard of this school. Plus I be ready to have conferences when my son gets a grade lower than 85. Failing in even one class is outta the question.

As a parent how dont you know your kid is failing everything. She's never seen a report card or progress report. I would be embarrassed to even make public that I'm an ain't shit parent.
Yeah there's no excuse for that at all

Like even if she used the excuse as the school wasn't communicating, you get your kid out of that school.

Like even with that GPA he was still middle of the class. That's crazy. No way should any kids be in that school. Much less for multiple years.

They used to make you get your parents signature on the report card so the school would know the parent saw it. They don't do that anymore?

I don't understand the "moved back" part. At my school you repeated the class if you failed. A lot of times you'd get a higher classman in a class because they transferred and never took it or failed it and need to repeat

No lol

If it's anything like my daughter school, they give you links and shit to login and see stuff. They still send paper copies home but they send them with the kids instead of mail and they find require any signature

No child left behind destroyed education. To keep the pipeline to prison and low income life flowing, schools no longer care if a student is doing well. To be fair, parents have to do better since too many send their kids to school with no home training and expect the teacher to parent your child.

The whole population is hooked on social media, not just the kids, but they are the biggest victims since adults refuse to admit they are just as guilty when it comes to being unfocused due to social media use. The kids are being blamed for not being more responsible despite their lack of adult examples.

Every year since i can remember, teachers say the kids are worse than ever. Reminds me of what Poot said in the Wire:
" Man, every year everybody like 'Yeah, these kids out here. They're a new breed. I ain't never seen nothing like this before. This the end of the world."
Its always the same excuse, when the only things that change is the economy gets worse, the parents get lazier, the teachers get lazier, and everyone blames the kids. The kids never change though, just our response to their situation.

These pop up schools are a problem.

Back when I was in highschool. You knew each school in the city. Even if it was a bad school, you know of the school. I don't know half the schools these days. They don't have no sports teams, no extra curriculars.... Like they really don't got shit.

Yea they used to have the students take the report cards home and get the parents signature

Surprised they do it online now. Do they assume everyone has Internet?

If you have a cellphone, you have internet access. That's how most of the third world accesses the internet.

I think they do

I have my own issues with this when the school only communicates shit to one parent but that's for a different thread

I had to "politely" tell one of my oldest doctors about this when they called one day looking for my wife, then said "oh no that's fine we'll just wait to tell her" about some results from an allergy test. They apologized for like the next year everytime we came in after that.

Wouldn't that violate HIPAA laws if they told you without her permission? Regardless of the content

i've talked to her a couple of her teachers 2x plus the front office like 4x and yet...i still am the very last to know and that's if her mom decides to tell me...but again...this for another thread before i get triggered lol

no

well...if they didnt know he was the dad, then yea, but once he is able to show he's the dad, by law, they have to tell him

I've also had this happened to me as well

That was the wildest shit. The call began with "We are looking to speak with one of *my child's name* parents". It happened when we initially registered him for his 1st summer camp too. They kept taking me off the emails and only replying to her until she sent an email demanding they stop. There's a constant battle to make sure that when dealing with a teacher or doctor etc that they don't only speak to her as if I'm not in the room. Some do it...some don't and get surprised when called out on it
