I've been talking about this game for a while and I think I want to do a playthrough series. Really short content to keep the interest or like grounded, might just be a space for me to talk to myself.

But if you have a few min, please watch this video. I thought this was a pretty good intro to the game.

A more seasoned player narrates a video from his buddy who is practically new to the game and he talks about some things as a beginner, his friend could've done differently

just something to get started. I'm sleepy af but i just hopped into a quick game and took a couple of screenshots to get started. Video capturing was acting up so this gonna have to do.

Meet survivor Elton Fitzpatrick. The name was randomly generated so whatever. Didnt want to invest a ton of thought into a playthrough that's been almost a year since my last one.

Started the game picking the Carpenter path. This is going to give me an added bonus when making shit and I get a bonus with short blunt weapons.

Started out in Muldraugh, KY (the game takes place in Kentucky). This area is a highly residential area so I spawned into a trailer and I should've grabbed a curtain or something to make a sling. I didnt get any screenshots here cause I was used to how previous versions spawned you in with you being somewhat safe from zombies when starting out. I stepped outside and was immediately met with a few. I could NOT seem to lose them. I ran and ran and ran and ran until i found the forest. Finally decided to reverse course and head back towards some homes.

Came across a lone cabin in the woods. I think this will be my base. It just had one zombie that was trapped in the bathroom i had to deal with. Took care of her with a pair of scissors I found. Cut up a jacket and made it into some curtains and put 3 of them over some windows. Dont mind the blood. I killed her in the living room then dumped the body outside so Elton doesn't start freaking out at the sight of a body over time.

Goals for next playthrough:

  1. get video capture working
  2. rest up
  3. there was a mechanic book level 2 and electrician book level 3 that i read. I need to venture out to find more books.
  4. Make a weapon more sturdy than a knife
Long term goals

  • fortify my current place
  • find more food. only have a few can goods in this current space. I got a can opener so im super happy about that.
  • Find a working vehicle
  • find a generator to wire to the house. The power will cut off in the city at some point in the early game and this game is a totally different game at night and you cant see. Also need electricity to power up the fridge and shit to keep food fresh
  • build some water capture boxes
  • plant food
  • find some animals and possibly build me a farm where I am
