I've said the team needs to be relocated many times in the nba thread but I never did take into account Memphis is a black city and the significance that a team being there has culturally and economically. Lebron obviously didn't either. What he said and how he said it being the face of the league and black looks terrible optics wise. No way around it.

You sound stupid. Watermelon, okra, and black eyed peas don't cover the breadth of African American culture and we don't even prepare those things like Africans. There are such things as Soul Food restaurants and African restaurants. An okra is just a plant, how it's prepared is what matters, and that is not the same. Or are you going to argue that dumb shit and try to pretend that Soul Food and African food are the same?

And we didn't assimilate into our oppressors culture. We literally created the culture. No one's trying to erase the origin story. I've said multiple times we began in Africa, but we've been gone from Africa a long time. Maybe your counting is that good, but we came here starting in the 1600s. That's a lot more than a generation or two ago. Africans don't get to claim the accomplishments of people who have been gone from that continent for centuries.

Because it’s plenty other black cities that have teams and folks still enjoy going to those places.

Atlanta
DC

All places folks regularly get visited.

Memphis is just not it. It has nothing most people wanna go see/do
