Video Jay-Z Breaks His Silence—“We Played Enough Defense, 2026 is All Offense”

Ok, thats fair. How about thinking about it this way. First interview in years, and we have all these successful black media platforms, but he passes all of them to go str8 to white legacy media.

Why is that? Does he not respect the black platforms? Is he seeking more white acceptance trying to be likeable like Snoop? Or was he scared they might really ask some questions and not the typical soft fluff peace?

And I saw the Meek thing, i understand him not wanting to ask him to be on his pod to seem like hes begging. IJS, for me personally, he shouldnt really have to ask. You'd think dude would see him grinding this long without asking him and wanna pop up one day just to boost his mans numbers. Not even for some serious interview, but just to bullshit for a whole or part of a show, but thats just my opinion.
If you can’t ask your friend for over 20 years to be on your pod because you don’t want seem like your begging, that ain’t your friend then.

Yoo
Lmaooooooo

Not you Dr. Umar

Stfu slow mo.

Bruh I just really don’t like the niggas who say shit like “black people cant ever come together, niggas have too much ego, crabs in a barrel.

Ones I see the most do that is elzo and Cain. But Cain older and you know older black folks have a different pov.

Elzo ain’t said nothing about his homeland and their issues but want to tell us how to be better

And fuck you for the Umar shit lol

But as a dude who don’t like asking for favors why if he sincerely did not want to do that.

I think people already had their minds made up on not only what questions they wanted to be asked but what answers they wanted and unless he gave them that it didn't matter who did the interview. Which was done by a Black journalist btw. Taking it as an automatic disrespect of Black platforms and a sign he doesn't care is a huge leap without anything to really back it up. And it continues to speak to the "stan" like nature in which people have come to consume media with. After 30 years of being in the game, taking this 1 interview to draw those massive conclusions is ridiculous.

Regarding Bleek...would it be a good look? Sure. Nobody is denying that. Is it a necessity? Nah not really. Especially when an interview with Bleek still wouldnt produce the results people want because then it would turn into "Oh he just went to Bleek because he knew all the questions and topics would be softballs".

The type of "interview" those people want to see from Jay Z wouldn't come from somebody like Bleek. It would come from somebody with a bunch of Twitter timeline questions about Beyonce and shit.

Or maybe Bleek also doesn't want his podcast dependent on whether or not Jay will show up. He's also been around for 30 years and has his own career and relationships he's built separately from Jay. Also considering Jay gave this nigga the Dusse job , it's safe to say Jay has no problem putting his friends in positions to succeed without them begging.

I get that pov.

But the pod have artists on there so being friends with one of the goats should get you an appearance from them.

Leave it to niggas to create narratives that the people involved don’t invoke.

Imaginations running WILD. It’s insanity; grown men waxing poetic on what other niggas SHOULDA BE doing…..for OTHER niggas!!

Yall sound crazy. Re-read this thread. It’s niggas in here that want to put the onus on Hov (or any ONE rapper at that) to breathe life back into foundations of hip hop that aren’t as popular in the wider, mainstream lens and then turn around and regurgitate talking points created by the internet and rappers “scorned” by jay z (oschino) that suggest that jay didn’t want to give the exclusive interview to Bleek

It’s some funny style shit. I hope you niggas get it together.

I hear you brotha, but looking at it ina lens, you had a homeboy who is in the podcast, who also is somewhat known in the music game, would you want to give your homeboy an interview?
And you're this big star.

I remember Jamie Foxx went on Tank and J.Valentine 1st EP maybe 2nd with R&B money podcast and that EP is a classic one, they told many stories and shared good light on their friendship. I think that could have been the approach with Jay and the Bleek podcast. More so like 2 friends chopping it up talking about things that happened at certain points in their careers...
Etc. I think thats the interview to me that folks would have wanted from Jay.

Not this God like interview...thats how I took it....
But as your best friend in the game...would you go on his podcast?

But that Bleek interview would have did good
Tell us what was going through your head when we interrupted Cams interview on 106, remember when we did that or when was in club such and such and you told the DJ to not play so and so song..

Those the interviews that do numbers and come off in good faith to me

Bleek has made it clear that he don’t want handouts from Hov on some just because shit

Why do you want a Bleek to get it in a way that he himself doesn’t want, pause

lol the break dancing and graffiti thing kinda threw me off. Like folks don’t even want to do all that with dancing anymore. And Graffiti is an art but it ain’t up to rappers to keep it up.

If Bleek doesnt want the interview Kool.
I didn't know that information. I rest my case.

I imagine an interview with Bleek would do numbers as well ....but Bleeks his mans ... You wouldn't want an interview which wouldn't be neutral so to speak

I mean does the medium matter?

I can't even believe this interview is still being argued about and discussed

What are we being neutral on?? Its not like this dude is a President or running for office

Too me, I would look at it as he showing love to his patna in front of the world...that we can see...and they kicking it on some...remember the times energy. Again Jamie Foxx did that for Tank and J.Valentine and it was a classic show...they got drunk and the shit was hilarious with their story telling, remember the times.

They didnt press Jamie because they are real friends...so it felt that way watching them interact.

Outside of videos, when has Jay and Bleek been in the same room outside of Is that Your Chick video lol
I myself wasn't looking for this dude to be pressed about any issue.

Nigga is a snake...to me...so I'm not looking for his homeboy to press him...more so..

If the man only do 1 interview for every 10 years why not do it with your patna if he wanted to run it...as eryone said, that aint the case...

But it seems funny that he didnt go to another black platform and speak.

Running to the white platform.. Coward ass

It was a Black man who interviewed him on GQ... Photoshoots, styling ...alladat done by black people (mask he held is from Southern Africa...)

"Showing love.."? Lmao wasn't there an IG post here with an enormous gigantic Jay portrait in Bleeks podding studio... With Jays cognac etc

Yeah if Oschino didn't bring it up nobody remembered or cared Bleek had a pod
