You actually watched something from that thread? 🥹

….so far (PS5)
  • fell asleep waiting for the required update after launching game
  • Game locked up and crashed once already. hopefully not a persistent issue
  • I hate having to press X multiple times to control run/speed. Just feels weird
  • I can already tell inventory management is going to be a pain
  • Not sure how I feel about some of the controls yet in general
  • Huge open world with a lot to do. Could be overwhelming to some but I like it
  • Combat is fun

I saw the inventory stuff in a review and it seems annoying af

Then the before you buy said the game don’t pick up until after the first 8 hours

But game looks great and I get the sentiment that combat is fun but maybe the in between stuff is way less fun

But I do hope you atleast enjoy it

"But game looks great and I get the sentiment that combat is fun but maybe the in between stuff is way less fun" - I would say this is a fair assessment. The game tries to do a lot. Some they get right. Some just feels unnecessary and annoying....but it hasn't really taken away from my enjoyment of the game yet (more of a nuisance than anything).

Yeah not gonna lie...that inventory management really is annoying.. I read 2 reviews of the game before it came out, and they were pretty spot on. Admittedly I've only barely scratched the surface of the game, but the reviews rating it 7/10 might not be far off. It's not a bad game...just has some questionable mechanics and might suffer from trying to do too much at times.

More pros/cons

  • They didn't lie when they said the game does not hold your hands....for better or worse (ex. I spent 15 standing on a platform trying to figure out how to activate it; Also, had a situation where I couldn't finish a side quest until I interacted w/ a specific object "just right")
  • The game allowed me to sell an item that I needed for a side quest. Luckily the game has a buy back system and I remembered who I sold the item to otherwise I would've been screwed. It doesn't seem to be consistent in this behavior because I was prevented from saling other items (maybe because they're main quest items)
  • The game has this investigation system where some items will have a ?? over them until you interact with them and learn what they are. Cool. However, why do some items that vendors sale have this ?? on it. You have to hover over the item at which point it scans it for 3+ seconds before revealing the description and updating your investigation data. The usage of this seems random af.....like I can't look at this item and tell it's a shovel. There's NOTHING special about it so display the description by default. Seems like a uneeded mechanic/annoyance

Appreciate the review

I’ve come to grow to like games that don’t hold your hand and allow you to miss out on stuff because the game doesn’t care to have you do things a certain way

Its true freedom

I tried to get into that game but just couldn’t. I really didn’t understand the story
The story is the worst part of the game lol

It’s short and it’s nonsensical and they don’t tell you shit lol

I missed major plot and a story mission because I didn’t know I had a time limit

But pure exploration and combat and adventure I loved it

That’s kinda why this game reminded me of it a bit

I def remember knocking a troll down a chasm. Climbing enemies and shit.

Yeah fun time

So maybe this game is similar in that regard

But if you haven’t played either I would say buy DD2 since it’s a lot cheaper then if you maybe liked that give this a try on sale

But I could be saying nonsense
