SmdhThe shit I've seen online with this Talarico/Crockett primary is giving very much the general election is going to be a clusterfuck. If there was ever a time when Texas was tee'd up for Dems to flip a seat it's now because the candidates for the Republicans are terrible. I'm already seeing Black folks in Texas saying that they are not going to vote in November. That's exactly why we are in the shit show we are now.
I see it on Threads, Black Texans are pissed off, Talarico is probably going to lose in November. The shit I've seen online with this Talarico/Crockett primary is giving very much the general election is going to be a clusterfuck. I think they're pissed because Talarico didn't do much campaigning in this primary to win over Black voters and honestly Black people especially Black women are tired of being looked over and others acting as if the Black vote is guaranteed.I don't really understand the logic here. Nonblack Texans voted for the nonblack candidate and the black Texans are willing to let everything burn over it?
Is there a particular reason they are so riled up over this? Or is it "You didn't vote for the black woman, so fuck ya'll."

Edit: to add from what I've seen a lot of reasons why people are saying they voted for Talarico are the same reasons folks said they didn't vote for Harris in 2024...
Again I think overall a lot of Blacks are frustrated with people not putting in effort to win their votes. Especially when White and Latino voters are fickle as fuck. Some effort should've been made.I guess I understand that, but honestly, if I was in his position I wouldn't have put much effort into trying to win over black voters either. No matter what he did, he wasn't going to pull a significant portion of the black vote away from a popular black candidate, so why try? His time was better served getting everyone else.
This is a good rant on why folks are pissed off.

Agreed a lot people will come around, but Democrats can't ignore that they too have a racism problem within the party and simply running on the idea that Republicans are worse isn't a winning formula. I hope Talarico is smart enough make some serious effort to win these folks over because ultimately the goal is get enough Dems in Congress to actually check Trump.Cool, don't vote for Talarico. Go end up with whoever wins the Republican primary instead lol
He just needs to court Jasmine. That should be objective number 1.Agreed a lot people will come around, but Democrats can't ignore that they too have a racism problem within the party and simply running on the idea that Republicans are worse isn't a winning formula. I agree with @Los216 though overall Democrats are gonna have a tough ass time if we keep seeing candidates who seem like they don't need to court Black voters.

He seems less confrontation than her but he's also seems more religious. I read he didn't campaign on religion but I'm just not a fan of religion being anywhere near politicsAgreed a lot people will come around, but Democrats can't ignore that they too have a racism problem within the party and simply running on the idea that Republicans are worse isn't a winning formula.
