A day after offering conflicting justifications for the decision to take military action against Iran, Secretary of State Marco Rubio sought to walk back his earlier assertion that the operation was precipitated by Israel’s plans to strike Iran.

On Monday, Mr. Rubio told reporters on Capitol Hill that the United States struck Iran “proactively in a defensive way” under the assumption that Iran would target U.S. forces after Israel began its own attack on the country. But on Tuesday, ahead of a pair of classified briefings on the war for members of the Senate and House, Mr. Rubio sought to play down Israel’s role in prompting the strikes.

I can confirm this is likely to happen.

The Kurds aren't gonna go and liberate Tehran and fight the region.

They are going to fight to oust the regime in North West Iran and start governing themselves.

Iran is already bombing the fuck out them, so they have no reason to not to fight back.

If the US makes enough guarantees, the major one being that the US will protect them from the sky long after they make peace with Iran and also keep Turkey off their backs, then the Iranian Kurds will fight with the support of the Iraqi Kurds. You talking about 30-50 thousand fighters, and the number will grow if the US provides arms and ammunition.

About 50,000 U.S. troops in the Middle East are now assigned to the war against Iran, with more forces and fighter jets flowing into the region, a senior U.S. military official said.

Qatar’s official state news agency said in the early hours of Wednesday in the Middle East that the country’s authorities had “successfully arrested two cells” operating for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in Qatar. Ten suspects were arrested, seven of whom were accused of being “tasked with espionage missions to gather intelligence on the nation’s vital and military infrastructure,” according to the Qatari authorities, while the other three were “assigned to conduct sabotage activities and trained in the use of drones.” According to the state news agency, Qatari authorities found they had “locations and coordinates of sensitive facilities and installations, along with communication devices and technological equipment” and during investigations the suspects had “confessed their links” to Iran, as well as their role in espionage and subversion missions.

Iranian strikes conducted over the weekend and on Monday damaged structures that are part of or near communication and radar systems on at least seven U.S. military sites across the Middle East, according to a New York Times analysis of satellite imagery and verified videos.

Visuals show damage on or close to radar systems used to track incoming ballistic missiles, satellite dishes and radomes, which are weatherproof covers that protect sensitive equipment used by forces to communicate over long distances.

Adm. Brad Cooper, head of United States Central Command, said on Tuesday that more than 50,000 troops, 200 fighters, two aircraft carriers and bombers from the United States are participating in the fighting with Iran, with more capability on the way, in what is “the largest buildup by the U.S. in the Middle East in a generation.”

“In simple terms, we’re focused on shooting all the things that can shoot at us,” he said. “We are also sinking the Iranian Navy, the entire navy,” he added, noting that 17 Iranian ships were destroyed, “including the most operational submarine that now has a hole in its side.”

Admiral Cooper said the U.S. was continuing with “24/7 strikes into Iran from seabed to space and cyberspace.”

The blue stars are about to be so aggressive with everyone because this their final chance to have the USA back then completely on everything

They want the entire region under one flag

If these guys really think they can put some GI Joe's in Iran they are gonna learn the hard way why not even Rome could pull that off.

Hey I just came here to ask you this... and I mean no disrespect... how many times are the Kurdish people going to let themselves get used by the US and then get tossed aside? Are they down that bad but still have the numbers to make something work?

It seems like they should be prime candidates for a "we're gonna sit this one out"
