Delroy Lindo and Michael B Jordan Get Called The N Word While On Stage At The BAFTA Awards

I know why he was invited. But...why was he there, is what I'm asking.

Invite a blind person to Ice Capades and they'll be like "thanks but I'll sit this one out". If you have a propensity for calling black people disparaging terms when you really don't want to... it's on you to take responsibility for your shit and avoid that situation. Being disabled doesn't mean you're devoid of responsibility.

It's wishful thinking that this will lead to a complete boycott of this particular award show but it would be nice if blacks bounded together to create something but I know that's a tall ass order due to everything it takes to produce these types of award shows

Yeah homie could've been there but in a green room or something

My middle daughter is very sympathetic to his condition and took up for him and alladat, but even she said that he should have been in a green room somewhere instead of in the general crowd, especially after his first few outbursts.

Bet and NAACP awards lost their steam

yeah this discourse is a good case study on why I gave up on white liberals that treat ableism as remotely on the same level as racism.

I am throwing your politically progressive cracker ass off the same cliff as a Klansman if you seriously believe the "r-word" and "n-word" are 1:1 equivalents lmao.

Took me 5 minutes to google this shit. There's also mouthguards they use.

If you have bathroom issues like that, you know to wear a diaper if you're going to a public function. This is no different imho. What did HE think was gonna happen? Your condition isn't a choice, how you manage it is. FOH

Black artists definitely need to boycott. 🫵🏿and others need to stop watching and paying attention to these events not looking for someone else to produce one in a black space that you most likely won't watch/support anyway.

Im gonna be real, that's basically a muzzle. Most humans aint wearing that. Condition or not. Shit looks uncomfortable and hot.

White peoples gas lighting efforts are always in overdrive..

What worse is the type of people attaching themselves to this flagrantly grandstanding and using this as a springboard for more racism..

So you have two factions of crackers on different roads arriving at the same point..

I haven't watched an awards show in years

But I also can walk and chew gum at the same time to say while I don't watch these, if there are spaces where blacks want to be celebrated, they need to create them

The issue is this unspoken formula that having these awards grants you more opportunities from the funding studios and also validate your work

People have always dismissed things like the soul train and bet awards cause they never got any additional money for budgets or projects cause they were winners of those awards

So you said that all to what prove my point? Could have just hit the cosign button.

Yeah I feel like the majority of the blame should be on the BAFTAs. You knew you were inviting this man and his condition/potential outburst. Why wasn't he placed somewhere further back so his voice wouldn't be pick up by the mics? He could have been moved closer when the category his film was nominated in was being announced. Then there is no excuse not to edit the broadcast. Primarily to prevent further humiliation for Delroy and Michael, but also so this man who has a history of depression and suicidal thoughts over his condition doesn't get piled on by the internet.

The sheer audacity of that non-apology and these terminally online dickheads arguing "an apology is ableist" or whatever

Like if you were physically ill enough to throw up on somebody IN PUBLIC, you obviously didnt mean to do that but the first words out yo fuckin mouth afterwards would be some variation of I'M SORRY
