Wizards not fucking around with the tank

I respect it

Basically doing what we did with Ingram last year. Low cost trade for an injured player now that they wouldn't be able to sign in the offseason otherwise. Can just focus on rehabbing him and getting the best pick possible. Low risk high reward. Can't be mad at it.

I wish Trae had actual value because I would flip him to get another pick in this draft coming up

I need the wizards to draft one of the big 3 in the draft

Could have

Tre Johnson
AJ/Boozer/Peterson
Kyshawn george
Sarr

And one of these guys

They were never going to flip him for another pick in this upcoming draft regardless. If that was on the table Atlanta would have seized that opportunity.

there’s definitely two sides in trading AD

1. Him and coop work well together the defensive presence and chemistry is there and he def learn a lot from the vet on defense end , then you got kyrie coming back you have two active hof players to soak up game from , if i got white bron I would like to see one full run between these 3 as gm it would only make sense to pull the plug after next year imo

2. Trade AD then eventually kyrie and build for the future okc style

Personally as acbb I wanted to see kyrie as and bron play this will be the closes

forgot this nigga existed

I look at it just because the hawks couldn’t do it doesn’t necessarily mean the wizards couldn’t only because of salary matching and assets would be different depending on the team

But you could be right I’m not going to fight you on how worthless niggas think Trae is lmao

You're overthinking it. Trae salary is the same regardless. Its only 2 teams with cap space to absorb salary and neither of them wanted trae in exchange for lottery pick/s.

Exactly

The Wizards being Traes preferred destination simply comes down to them having the space and willigness to take on his money and extend him

Its a mutually beneficial situation......He gets paid and Washington gets to put that cap space they had coming up this summer to use along with an exciting player to put fans in seats

Young isn't in the Wizards long term plans....Im sure they hope to rehab his value and then trade him in a couple of years. His salary wont hamstring their plans in any way

Even for Atlanta, they didnt get any picks in return but just getting of his salary for this year and next and moving into a different era is still worth doing the salary dump imo

I wouldn’t agree only because AD’s value is going down dramatically every passing month

Think about it

Last year he was traded for Luka

Who would he be traded for even this summer?

AD is in a slightly similar situation to Trae

Superstar players with negative value wanting a new deal, victims of the new cba

I say AD has negative value but ultimately I believe Dallas will get positive value in a trade though because he can actually help a team this year

If AD can put you into at least the conference finals and you can get two playoff runs out of him I would be ok with a two year rental and letting him walk

Only teams that are gonna trade for AD are teams that

1) think they can make a deep run with him on the roster
and/or
2) are willing to extend him or negotiate an extension in good faith.

I think right now its Atl, det, tor

Wouldn't surprise me if Mia, Mil, chi enter the chat over the next few weeks.

Also wouldn't surprise me to see the mavs just hold. I still believe in that roster with a healthy kyrie and lively.
