OUT NOW Nas & DJ Premier - Light-Years

Added to Calendar: 12-12-25

If NaS wants a veteran producer in Hip-hop to solely produce an album of his, he can chose from these in particular order:

1. The Alchemist
2. Q-Tip
3. MadLIB
4. Dr. Dre
5. Bink!
6. Mike Dean
Etc

Any of these cats would have made a sonically better album than Premier

@a.mann I actually meant to post 'in no particular order'

:lol10:

The AZ feature was a nice touch as well

NaS and AZ the DeNiro and Pesci of the rap game...

My favourite NaS/AZ collabo

Dope interview. I love hearing these dudes talk and still love this shit as much as they do.

smh

this dust smokin ass nigga tryna gaslight

I am hip-hop in its purest form

Beats & rhymes

& most of them beats was jus not it

Yeah, I hate that this is the route he chose to handle the heat
And he's rightfully getting flamed....AGAIN

I want to listen again cuz the first run was so so.....but those beats...lol....Premo can keep his "sound" but he needs to update the records to something more current sound cuz this isn't his greatest outing.....I actually would've liked it if premo stepped out the box and produced at least one "non-premo" beat.

I also wished they would've did a better job at crafting an actual HIT.....i get it they're so hiphop "Hit Record" just isn't the focus but i think the album gets a lil more acceptance if it had a hit somewhere on there....other than that Nas did his thing yet again

Album gets too much hate imo it gets better with each listen

First time I was underwhelmed too cause there are some duds on there and Premo couldve done better. That NY State Of Mind 3 is horrendous

But Nas rapping makes up for it and couple of the beats are bangin too

Nas probably still the best rapper alive and he 30+ years in, shit is crazy. Hasnt lost a step, lyrics on point, new flows on every song, mans was born to do this shit
