Just be aware that there's different dialects for everywhere so while the basics are the same some words literally don't exist from country to country. And slang differs just like any other language based on regions.

This. I was much better with my Spanish when I was living in Phoenix 'cause I had to use it so much. Started losing it when we got to Vegas 'cause it became rare that I ever had to speak it and by the time we moved back to MI my Spanish was almost non-existent. So I've been bumping some Spanish hip hop here and there and pulling up the translated lyrics from time to time to try to get it back.
