COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Why do people always say stuff like that? I get it, the government isn't always the best or most trustworthy when it comes to regulations, but there are a lot of regulations out there that government put in place that are good. I'm betting most people would agree with more regulations than they would disagree with.

No one should be on the fence about this. AI needs to be regulated, and I say that as someone who uses AI a lot. The only reason Reps are against regulations is because they are in bed with the big Tech corps and the Tech corps are pushing AI real heavy both to make money and to cut workforces to increase profit. If AI is allowed to run wild, I think this country would basically be finished. The combination of jobs that people lose with the fact that Reps are destroying the social safety net would lead to major problems.
Because of the doors it opens with restrictions. I also don't like the government controlling everything

I don't know what restrictions you're thinking of, but I'm sure dealing with those will be better than the alternative.

I'm not saying the government should go crazy with the regulations, but there are some things that need to be done right now.

One thing I do believe needs regulation that correlates with AI is data collection. Companies collecting all this info about a person for a "personalized experience" and then selling that data off. That also goes into advertisement business
