I don't have high expectations especially because of Premier... He's no longer an elite producer in my opinion

Out of all them niggaz who cooked ILLmatic, only Q-Tip still lethal on the boards... His production on LL Cool J's last album was excellent
Pete Rock has been a nice lil run himself 🔥

But yeah, surprisedly (sadly) Preemo, is the one out of the bunch who's production has been lackluster and forgettable in this new era

(I'll give him a grace tho, and he's still the GOAT because it did him take damn near 30 years before he finally washed out)

Pete cool ....I listen to his songs from time to time but he becoming a grumpy old man online...

Stand fast!

Okay, his production on this De La album, has sparked a light, I have not seen from him in some time now
Clearly not made using the newer equipment/software he's been stuck on recently. And definitely not mixed/engineered by PARKS

If he already has beats he made for NaS from way back when, and he just has to touch them up a bit ......there just maybe hope

All that heat he dropped with the king's disease series and magic series....stop it nigga
The illest shit bout this was that Jay did this for years and they asked Nas about it and Nas didn't even know. Lmaoooo.

Imagine doing something to fuck with someone and the person cares about you so little he doesn't even have a clue you doing it.

That ether.

Nas won twice.

Pete's an outright asshole.

Imagine being one of the most sought after producer in the culture

To watching niggas like Kanye and Pharrell become billionaires for doing shit u can do w ur eyes closed

And on top of that having ur legacy being slowly erased

Nah, from my understanding and hearing stories going back to the mid 90's, he's apparently was been a dick (⏸️)
He's still my 2nd all time fav, next to Preemo, but just following his moves on social media it all checks out
To his credit around the time he starting working with Common he's seems to have mellowed out a bit

Who's the pressure on with this album dropping?

Nas with the rhymes for the Preemo beats?

Or

Preemo with the beats for the Nas rhymes?

Because lackluster beats with Nas bars or top tier bears with subpar bars is going make or break this album.

What y'all got?

Nas been killing it lyrically as of late at least to me so the pressure is on Preemo to deliver.

Nas dropped 6 albums in the span of 3 years, all showcasing top tier lyricism, storytelling, flows, etc

How can anyone doubt him to do his part as a rap artist? I just hope Preemo isn't a yes-man and just let Nas rap on anything because he's happy to be there

'Define My Name' wasnt it, I hope they deliver with this album through and through. I said it before, let a man like Hit Boy A&R the project and it just might be in better hands 🤷🏿‍♂️

Don't know if there was a thread on this but I'll put it here. Spotify bought the website called WhoSampledit a site that's basically a musical snitching site that you can plug any song on the site and the program can tell you who and where the producer or producers sampled the beats from. Regardless how much you chop the beat up

For a big name producer like Preemo who basically leaves off sampling this might throw a wrench into how his new beats sound. It all basically kills the little guy starting out trying to produce with sampling because they won't have the money to pay the original artist for the sample.

This probably should've been a separate thread but I'm too busy to make one
