What does that have to do with what he's saying in this video?

You didn't even watch it, did you?

In that somebody who believes that shouldn't be taken seriously when talking about anything at all. Goes with the theme of the other thread in "who should be qualified to speak on what" actually. Somebody who is pro rape ain't exactly the person to speak on anything related to morals and right/wrong and be taken serious.

Yeah, you didn't watch it 'cause he touches on... Nevermind.

Seeing as how you haven't watched it and have no clue as to what is contained in this video, you're not qualified to reply and, thus, shouldn't be taken serious.

Me watching or not watching it doesn't negate what he said before. And unless he in the video talking about his own comments, which he didn't, then you trying to hint at him discussing rape means nothing. And watching or not watching the video, which I did, still wouldn't change my stance that he ain't to be taken seriously. Maybe find somebody who isn't a piece of shit to make your point.

Still not qualified to speak on it.

"You didn't watch it= can't speak on it"
"You did watch it= can't speak on it because you don't agree"

Thus proving my point again from the other thread that people want confirmation bias no matter who it's from. Great work. Keep your algorithm clean

Nah b, I legit don't think you watched it, 'cause if you did, you would have to agree with at least some of what he says.

So now you can tell me what I did and didn't watch? Would you instead prefer "he's a piece of shit who said 1 good point"? Because it still wouldn't negate anything else I said about him being a terrible person to make the point or using him actually hurts the point both him and you are trying to make?

Niggaz gotta think for themselves.

Or not, I'm tuning out.

he rubs me the wrong way.

That's why I was a bit hesitant to post this video. I've had a couple of other videos of his come across my timeline and each time I've wanted to sock him in the mouth and take a bat to his podcast equipment. This was the one and only time where I was like "aiight... nigga might have a lil point or whatever."

Hiphop been commercial since the 90s

Might I add he’s like my age or a little younger and grow up in the same era so he acting like he lived it when it was different.

I'd argue the late 90's as the point where it really started becoming more commercial, but the 00's is when it really took off.

His initial statement of the "bling bling era" is wrong as hell. Hip hop was commercialized long before then

Bling Bling was '99. In '98 Black Star's "Definition" sat at the #1 spot on the Rap City countdown for weeks and took a minute to get out of the top 10. That same year Jay had a run with "Can I Get A...", some clearly commercial shit. This is why I would say that the late 90's was the genesis of it, but from about 2000 onward is really when the commercialization of hip hop took over.
