What are the needs, weakness or x-factor for your team that you think could make or break your season?

For Houston I think its our guard play/ball handling

Really banking on Reed Sheppard being that guy and taking on that back up point guard role.....if he struggles or isnt ready than its Holiday Season or we have to see who's available

His summer league was a mixed bag, he didnt do a great job getting separation or beating his man off the dribble but the Rockets also had maybe the worst summer league roster of all time and he stilled showed the flashes you want to see

Defensively he's going to be fine, instincts and awareness is just too good especially considering he should be the worst defender on the court with all the talent around him on that end

I was about to laugh and ridicule reed Sheppard but I’ll save it this time

I’ll give you both grace since my answer would be Nikola Jovic

He offers the most flexibility as far as playing both forward spot and maybe having to play backup C out of necessity

His ability to stretch the floor as one of the few floor spacers on the team is necessary. So is his ability to push the ball in transition on a bad transitional slow paced team. So is his ability to make plays for others where there are no real primary facilitators on this team

He’s more of a X factor than someone like ware who’s kinda boxed into a specific role right now and I don’t see anyone else challenging him for that outside of maybe Pelle larsson

Also if Andrew Wiggins can not be a bitch he’s the guy that needs to step up the fill in for Tyler being out

Needs to become a primary scorer because it can’t be Powell

Would you prefer to start Jovic/Bam or Bam/Ware?

And what do expect/want to see from Ware offensively?

I don’t really have a preference because each option comes with pros and cons but I think for right now with no other big on the roster and Tyler out it would be best to start Jovic/Bam for spacing and depth

People act like bam can’t play C all of a sudden when he been doing it for like 6-7 years before ware lol

I don’t really think about ware much I don’t glaze him like other heat fans

Idk if I ever thought about what I expect to see or want to see out of him

I guess I just want him to stop being so jumpy on defense and hunting blocks and slide his feet better defensively and just get stronger in his lower body

I don’t really need to see anything else out of him

Maybe add a spot up mid range shot but ehh he’s good with what he’s doing

Just be smarter on D

Also I’m leaning on Jovic to start because he’s extension eligible so we need to see if we should keep investing in him and for how much

There’s no way Mitchell shoots fucking mid 40% from 3 again lol

We need Jovic’s 40% shooting and someone to push the pace

I’ll take that over rim protection and catching lobs in the starting lineup

Thing is Jovic isn’t exactly a strong rebounder but it’s because he’s really a SF/PF rather than a PF/C

Why did yall get away from letting Bam initiate the offense and handle the ball? That something I wouldve leaned into a bit more but it seems like yall went away from that

I always viewed bam as more of a 5 offensively....defensively it doesnt really matter because hes probably the most versatile defender in the league as far as bigs go

I think it’s because we were giving bam too much to do

Initiating the offense and then asking him to cover for majority of the starters’ defense while also asking him to score 18-23 was too much for mans

Look how good we were when bam played next to someone who was good defensively and could shoot

(Jae crowder, PJ Tucker, Meyers Leonard to an extent)

Jovic kinda the antithesis of this but there’s no other option

This is why I never understood the Haywood Highsmith hate, he fits that Jae Crowder, PJ Tucker player type lol

I really wonder what the Bucks are going to do with their starting lineup

Obviously Giannis and Turner are locked in, the other spots are kind of up for grab

The probably go with

Turner
Giannis
Kuzma
Trent
Porter Jr

What I would do....

Turner
Giannis
Coffey
Green
Rollins

Because he has a punchable face and he can’t dribble lol

but here’s the issue

Highsmith would have to start at PF and bam would have to be C

In this scenario, Jimmy butler would still be on the team and Mitchell isn’t present

That’s not enough spacing

So now let’s imagine post butler trade

Mitchell herro wiggins highsmith bam

That’s not enough rebounding and that’s a small ass frontcourt

That makes sense

Yall failed Highsmith by not putting players around him that fit his skillset
