First few tracks, Bodega Baddie, Pretty & Petty, and the clickbait Janet "feature" with the homophone error in the title are interesting.

The rest of this album is a snoozefest. Bloated and repetetive af, yawn-inducing beats that sound dated, cringe lyrics, flow/delivery is atrocious.... she makes rapping sound like it hurts.
 
Ok. I just finished it.

As I said already, production spent money on this. That at least kept me interested. As for Cardi herself…..meh. How many “I’ll crush all you bitches” raps can there be on one album. It got monotonous after a while. I did like the “Man of Your Word” track, and thought the album could’ve been more introspective, but I understand that’s not her lane.

A shame too, cause her lane is too pop for me to take seriously. Of course, it’s hard to take ANYONE seriously in the game that don’t write their own lyrics.

Scores:

Lyrics - 6/10 (I’m deducting a point for having 95% ghostwriters on this)

Production - 9.5/10 (might be the best produced album all year)

Album Cohesiveness - 8/10

Replay Value - 7.5/10

Overall - 8/10

I’ll give her this, she’s been able to adapt to the machine that’s made her. I still and will always believe this person is a plant, but this album is really well done.

I just wish other more authentic artists got a budget and push like she does.
