This is the story of a brutal coastal hurricane turned cataclysm through human error and neglect. I didn't have nearly the loss as a lot of my friends from that time did but I'm fatigued over Katrina documentaries.

That city still hasn't recovered in so many ways. Unless these docs are going to end up in lawsuits aimed at restoration, I'm not interested in different povs about this

Edit: it is still wild that I was 22 when this happened when at 42 I still have very vivid memories like it happened yesterday

I think Coogler's company tried to bring a different POV to theirs they released weeks ago. At the very least, at least its black filmmakers and their production companies involved so it won't be some shit built around sensationalism

I was extremely fortunate. All I loss was shit that could be replaced.

The city still don't look the same or rather even the parts that do (bourbon St, etc) still don't have the same feel

I understand, IDK man... It's just a weird feeling and if there is anyone who will give this situation the attention it deserves, I know it's him

I think one of the best povs about this is that show Treme from David Simon

Damn I’m sorry to hear yo

The Coogler series was great insight. Idk anyone from NOLA and being up in NYC I can’t even begin to imagine that kinda devastation and neglect your city went through. And the effects that still reverberates in the present day. America failed NOLA immensely

I'm from baton rouge but lived in Nola for college but that storm impacted the entire Gulf Coast region forever

I still have friends that have never gone back once they relocated
