I won’t get into everything else you said since that’s for hiphopjunkie but I don’t feel bad for Mitch Johnson for 2 reasons

It’s not like he took over for Pop when the spurs was good

Pop washed and the spurs haven’t made the playoffs since 2019 and haven’t made it to the 2nd round since before Jayson Tatum was in the league

And also because Mitch got a great opportunity to become head coach when he might’ve never had and he was coaching the spurs summer league team only like 2 years prior

He’s in a great situation

Even if he’s fired he atleast has an inside track to another gig possibly or the chances are increased

I legit feel kind of bad for Mitch Johnson

I always said I wouldn't want to be the coach to take over immediately after Pop and on top of that you have a generational talent that you're expected to compete and win with pretty fast(not to mention navigating the backcourt situation)....now some would also say thats a blessing to have a player like Wemby in your first gig

Seems like a lot for a first time head coach and I kind of think think the Spurs should've opened up the interview process a little bit...not necessarily hire somebody else but just see what's out there. Of course there's exceptions but typically I dont like when teams dont interview a few GMs or coaches. Im rooting for him to succeed though and hope he has trust from the organization to land the plane

I know last year wasnt really a fair season to evaluate him for multiple reasons but did you see anything that stood out or that you liked? @#1hiphopjunki3
they should've opened up the hiring process in my opinion, but Pop and the organization, and most importantly the players like and respect him. They aren't gonna do him dirty barring something crazy and fire him after one season. Mitch will get a decent chance to prove he is the person to lead this team and hopefully he does well. I like the additions to the coaching staff this offseason also.

On another note, the backcourt situation is being over blown. I think Castle is tall and strong enough to play the 3. I honestly think he would be better at the 1 to use his strength and height as an advantage, but last season he played some lineups with Chris Paul and Fox while still being productive. Dude is a ball player. I think (if he is who everyone says he is) Harper is gonna kill bench units offensively and I loved what he showed on defense in the Summer League. I think he is gonna do well as the sixth man and push sooner than later for Mitch to think about his rotations

Would you rather have Cade or Jalen Williams
Jalen Williams

Edit

better shooter, defender, and get to the line almost the same amount as Cade while being a 2nd option on a team that is stacked with talent. I would say its more difficult to stand out as a great 2nd option on a team stacked with talent as opposed to a 1st option on a team bereft/sparingly has talent.

Beta Vecenie 2023 NBA Re-Draft

1. Wemby

2. Amen

3. Brandon miller
4. Dereck Lively
5. Coulibaly
6. Scoot
7. Ausar

8. Cason Wallace
9. Podz
10. GG Jackson

Yo this was so tough lol

This draft class is mediocre as hell so far

I figured that out when I put Lively #4 and when I was debating between GG/Black/Jaquez for #10

Serious question: In your redrafts, are you strictly going on past production or are you still going on upside/likelihood of achieving upside?

Cause that's the only way I can make sense of putting Podz over GG Jackson. Just past production.

Wallace also does not have a high ceiling offensively IMO.

Carmelo sounded retarded for saying they gave Jokic his number to erase his legacy lol
Not really.

He had a fucked up relationship with the organization after he left. So, I can understand why he might think they would do some petty shit like that. Other the other hand, When Jokic was drafted and picked that number, the Nuggets (I'm sure) never thought in a 1000 years that this second round player out of Serbia would turn out to be the best player in their franchise history.

So yes, Melo is being hella self centered with his take, but I can also understand why he might think the organization would've been petty

Serious question, no trash talk....

Why are you so high on GG Jackson?

I mean, even in school he wasn't the greatest and his rookie year he scored points, but the same way he did in the NCAA. Hella inefficient with poor shot selection. I can understand liking the idea of his game, but so far (and to be fair its hella early in his career) it hasn't matched the production

going strictly on how things have went the first two seasons

No I understand why Carmelo thinks like that but I need him to get over himself

Like the nuggets went out their way to let Jokic have that number to help move erase him from memory

It was like a whole 4 years since he left

Him being self centered is why he turned into an even lesser version of Paul pierce for his generation

Cedric Coward gonna make the grizzlies say peace to GG by the end of next season

going strictly on how things have went the first two seasons

Then what are we doing here?

You might as well just order them by stats, and what interest is there in that?

Maybe the interest is: To see how, after all the talk about them, the players turned out. But surely, 3 years is way too soon to tell how the players will turn out. For some of them, we still don't know who they'll be. Take a redraft of 2021 after 2 years vs. now, going strictly on production. Jalen Johnson would be much higher now.

So these past production-based redrafts are either completely uninteresting, or we're doing them way too soon.

Because I like that he can do a little of everything at 6'9, and I don't need to see him actually put it all together to think that he could have a bright future.
