COMMUNITY The TV Stand: APs Quest for a new TV

I’m not upgrading. My shit is fine the way it is. I just was asking about soundbar placement

Ole Mr Moneybags outchea!

I have an all Polk 5.1 setup I pieced together, but only 3.1 is set up 'cause I'm lazy as shit. The 10" powered sub annoys my kids and the neighbors. The Monitor 60's do a good job with bass by themselves, but the sub takes it over the top, especially with movies. That low end make it feel and sound like a theater.

I played MC Breed's Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin' a few weeks ago. Shit was rattling everything. Kids came out PISSED 'cause it was too loud.
Naw I ain't that. But I do take my music serious. And love that the movie theater is at home for me. And yea my sub is the shit almost the 2nd most expensive thing of the set up

It you're ever in Vegas, check this spot out. I just got put on yesterday, so the next time I'm there I'mma holler at it.

Not everyone is an audiophile

Soundbars are more than acceptable for most of the population

Yeen gotta be an audiophile to buy a decent pair/set of speakers.

For me, tho, I gotta have something halfway decent 'cause I tend to play music on The Big Rig while I work or when I'm just chillin, so it's pretty important to me to have something I can listen to actual music on while also giving me a near movie theater experience here at the crib (seriously, The Thunderbolts sounded a-fucking-mazing on my setup).

I like Hisense especially for the price Im not sure about the quality w/ the bigger screens but the I wanna say the 50” I have is amazing.

I like my Samsung 50", but to be perfectly honest, I wish I would have copped a Visio joint if only for the extra inputs.

Samsung was always my go to and what the Hisense replaced but after probably 10+ years old Samsung said adios. Around the holiday times and I wasn’t trying to spend Samsung money went and grabbed a Insignia that was on sale.. took that shit back immediately figured I give Hitachi a try wasn’t to much more I think less then $300 on sale and have been presently surprised. Now they might be my go to when I decide to go bigger eventually.

If I hadn't gotten accustomed to having SamsungTV+, I prolly would have copped another Visio 55" like the one we left in Vegas by now.

That might be just it.. I know my sister household they all about Samsung and they like the I guess the integrated notifications (that might be part of the Samsung TV+) like letting you know when the fridge door didn’t shut or oven is done reheating but ehh I’m simple and not boujee like them I don’t need that shit lol. Give me Apple Airplay compatibility and the basic streaming apps and I’m happy.
