This Generation Is Soft Pt.3438098: Ari Lennox Says Martin Roasting Pam Hurt Her Feelings

View attachment 1556475

I swear sometimes, this site…..

EVERY time I say something y’all don’t agree with, you Crumb Bums go directly to my occupation, as if that’s supposed to validate anything.

I’m allowed to have whatever opinion I want without being questioned about how that correlates to my career. I don’t question your fuckin line of work when you say goofball shit….

…I just slide to the side, and let you take another order.

FOH, A.P. My occupation doesn’t mean anything about this situation for thinking ole girl can simply NOT watch something if it’s bothering her. I’d literally tell my students the same goddamn thing, and they’re all in middle school, and could figure that out without getting wound up.

The quantity of your simping on this site has increased exponentially. Between this thread and the Angel Reese thing, you really need to grow a spine, and stop trying to be a white knight around here. You’re not noble; you’re just being a cyber-sucker.

So again, I reiterate….

I'ma remove all of your reactions from the last week but before I do that

Dawg, you are an academic. You get shit for your job because you understand how to read and comprehend. You learn the art of deductive reasoning through your curricular journey yet you speak and feel so strongly like someone who gets their talking points from these monkey monologue podcasts.

There's never any give with you. You speak in absolutes without any regard for other possibilities

There's no argument 2+1 is 3. No one should debate that (but niggas)

But you are trying to call her weird ass names cause she's speaking on HER experience with colorism. Again, no one agrees with her point but niggas at a minimum understand where her pov is based off

I can't believe y'all are this dense or disconnected regarding her self esteem issues with this topic

I think the issue is, while being very poorly articulated by some, is that her feelings don't match up with reality. Social media has created this narrative of Pam's character being treated as this downtrodden, woe is me "I can't keep a man" stereotype of the dark skin best friend when the reality is that's not what she was at all. And Ari Lennox's feelings on the Pam character don't match the reality that she was portrayed as an intelligent Black woman who didn't take shit and refused to let her friend settle for less than what she felt she deserved from Martin.

There's a choice in how to view the character and when people intentionally take the route to make them feel worse about themselves that's on the viewer not the creator

Ari Lennox as a dark skinned woman didn’t like seeing another dark skinned woman be the butt of so many jokes from Martin

That was 90% of Martin and Pam’s interactions on the show

That’s it

I hate this stupid generation anyhow

Man, this a cop-out.

I could somewhat understand her catching these types of feelings if the show was running live episodes NOW, although I would’ve said the same thing about not having what she perceives as negativity towards black women in her life, and avoiding the show altogether if she couldn’t handle it.

However, crying about a show that came out a whole generation ago is asinine. That’s like gay people getting mad at Eddie Murphy now for joking about “faggots” in his stand-up movie Delirious, despite the fact that it came out in 1983. No one’s condemning Eddie for that, not even gay men. They just sucked it up to that specific point in time.

Nah. No one would tell them it’s ok to be in their feelings about it. They’d say, “just don’t watch that shit, and that shouldn’t offend you. That was a whole different time.”

But not here. Here is non-stop coddling and validating this, probably because y’all see her as an attractive black woman.

I can do give-and-take when it seems reasonable. This is NOT reasonable, and you know it.

Next thing you know, she (or other dark colored women) will be raging at Spike Lee for School Daze or some shit.

It was some boys at my daughter's summer camp that were picking on or "bullying" my daughter and her friends.....so much so that she didn't want to get outta bed one morning...

So i sat there with her for 30 minutes and taught her the art of roasting someone into submission....

She was laughing so hard, she hopped out the bed and couldn't wait to get to school to with the tables

It's now 3 little boys named balloon head #1 balloon head #2 and ballon head #3

Her and her friends refuse to call the boys anything other than balloon head and their designated number....

One if the boys started crying, and another doesn't wanna be friends with the other two ballon heads any more...and my daughter and her friends couldn't be happier.

They're 8

Imagine going ur entire life and having ur career stunted cuz ur dark skinned w Afro American features then watching ppl laugh at someone making fun of those same things for 5 seasons on a classic tv show
Is that why she didn't make it?
We can all agree Gina never got the same smoke as Pam
Nigga Gina had to do a whole episode with a headboard around her neck🤣

I’d say she feels like it’s one of the reasons cuz no one singing better or making better music than her imo whipped cream should have won a vocal performance Grammy

Gina having a big head is not the same as nappy headed jokes

Light skin girls are famously roasted for having big heads though

I think it’s because Martin has a bigger impact on kids born from 1987 - 1993 tho.
