The Official MCU Thread

Thats why that Venom movie pisses me off... cuz that coulda lead to Venom vs Spiderman for one movie and then Venom and Spiderman vs Carnage for another... maybe it still can but I have zero trust in sony.

Im glad they are letting some of the other villains outside of green goblin get some shine for now tho
That venom movie pisses me off because venom is one of if not my favorite comic book character. Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors too...I don't even wanna watch that shit...in theatres atleast.

Also I know mysterio can carry a movie by himself but what else will be going on in that movie?

I assume how Queens has been dealing without Spider-Man not to mention Vulture and Mysterio. They may have a prior friendship or some shit and a jailbreak happens. We know Scorpion and Vulture know eachother already in prison. Perhaps Vulture might think he owes Spider-Man one and may help him.

Lol this guy said queens without Spiderman...

This ain't the other spiderman movies where they was throwing him parades and singing Spiderman songs in the subway and JJJ silently missing Spider-Man...

Like the borough gonna be crying from no Spiderman being around...

Anyways idk man I think vulture still tries to kill him for fucking his shit up but he wants to do it so Idk

I just don't see what else is going on in the movie this time to take up runtime

Aye fuck you bruh lol but I'm saying crime should be up since he isn't around to check the little shit. On top of that is Mysterio/Vulture fuckery and we know alien tech is still out there too. Actually I just remembered Kevin Feige said the film will be in London too I don't know where they going with this story lol.

I'm not sure why the MCU vs DCEU thing is still a debate, but if we're going to go there.... The original Iron Man was a great jumping off point. Incredible Hulk was meh. The first Cap and first Thor were OK to good depending on your tastes. So, it's true that Marvel didn't exactly knock every movie out of the park to begin.

DC on the other hand dropped MoS, which was a good movie IMO and a decent starter to the DCEU (til this day, I still don't understand why it got so much bad press. BvS was largely trash with some good action scenes. SS was trash. WW was good. JL was meh.

So yeah, the MCU didn't exactly start out flawless, but it was still better than the DCEU has been. The real problem is that JL was supposed to be for the DCEU what Avengers was for the MCU. The fact that it seriously underperformed will make it difficult for DC to hit their stride. It's not impossible. The problem is DC has already made stupid decisions and I doubt they are going to start making the right ones now that they are under the gun. And while over the top MCU fans may be annoying. When you have DCEU directors talking shit about how second rate characters in Marvel will never do as well as icons like Superman and Batman and then having BvS get smashed by Civil War in direct competition, you don't do yourself any favors.

It’s subjective as hell because I was lukewarm on the first couple MCU movies. Iron Man 1 was cool, Iron Man 2 meh, Iron Man 3 was meh, Hulk was meh, Captain America 1 was alright, Thor 1 and 2, were meh and bad, the first Avengers movie was the first truly good MCU movie, they had a few years of trial and error before finally seeing what works and what doesn’t work and perfecting their formula and they now crank out great movies. That’s why I’m not so hard on the DCEU because they’re just starting out.

Nah Feige confirmed already it takes place after 4 marvel shot themselves in the foot with the constant announcements before films.

That's not really their fault because the film being green lit was Sony's call. The cat was already out the bag (and obvious) before Feige even spoke on it.

I feel you. It is subjective. Even subjectively speaking I feel like you have to say Iron Man was a truly good movie. It's basically the template for MCU movies. If it wasn't good, the MCU never would have made it this far. Hell, now that you put it like that, it's still kinda surprising it blew up into what it is. They bet everything on Avengers and it worked for them. That's why I said the DCEU is in trouble. They did the same for JL and it didn't work.

Honestly I dont wanna compare the two.. I want both of them to do well.. but since yall brought it up........

DC didn't take the time to craft the characters so the audience would actually give a fuck about them.

Even before justice league DC skipped the line with batman vs superman... as opposed to Marvel and how everybody in avengers had halfway decent character development over the span of several movies.

yall look at this shit and tell me yall got confidence in what DC is doing

It wasn’t a bad movie it was solid and I think imo it gets slightly overrated because the expectations were so low for it.

DCEU isn’t in trouble it’s just trial and error for them. They’re still in their figuring things out phase. The MCU went through it.

It's in trouble. WB has bounced around the idea of abandoning the shared universe approach altogether and just making character movies. I think they can turn it around, but you can't discount the fact that JL being a flop was a hard blow for them.

Ok cool you think it’s in trouble I don’t think it’s in trouble. Nothing else to discuss.

If they could have figured out how to hook Nolan into the universe that would have been dope. Batman was already established. Then MoS. That would have had them off and running from jump. Imagine the first three Batmans and MoS with a Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Flash movie peppered in between with tie ins to one another. They would have been a strong competitor by this point with their own tone and expectations.
