Fragrance thread

Are people really fans of "Oud" scents like that?

I've smelled so many from many different fashion houses and not one single fragrance has impressed me like that

most of of them range from a neutral wet wood smell

all the way up to something similar to a spicy dog shit smell :scust:

mofos really out here wearing oud on purpose

The Eastern ouds really do smell like stanky cheese, absolutely revolting... I really dont get the oud hype...

Western ouds, which prolly contain like 0.000001% of actual real oud are often pretty nice if they dont smell too synthetic...

I do have one real oud fragrance from Bortnikoff, his 'Amber Cologne' but theres no barnyard, sh!t or cheese smell to it lol

Apparently its been reformulated since I purcahsed it though and like with most reformulations, lacks performance and depth...

The 2 oud fragrances in my collection I'd recommend that the casual cologne wearer would like is Perfect Oud by Mizensir and Haltane by PDM.

You can't go wrong with either.

Won a bid on a sealed 2007 Chanel 'Allure Homme' for just over £50...

I believe small reformulations started in 2008, then major changes were made from 2015 onwards which made feel like a thin 'diet' version...

Its a great summer scent, although its deep, rich and slightly creamy... its also fresh and citrusy... I could bath in this stuff!!! lol

I'm not sure how many I've got tbh but I've been getting more vintage miniatures than big bottles...

Although saying that, the last couple months I've have been I keep scooping up deals on big bottles, so I need to chill out now lol

Copped the GOAT cheapie 'Encre Noire' and blind bought 'A'L Extreme' too... I got both for less than £45...

Im not overly keen on A'L Extreme so I'll probably give it to one of my nephews but Encre Noire is great, especially for £20!!!

My absolute favorite scent is the Tom Ford Oud dupe by Dossier . I might splurge and buy the real one but Reddit says this is practically identical. I can wear this everyday.

I think I smell the pepper the most. I can't describe it but I REALLY love how it smells on me

TOP: The first notes you smell

Rosewood, Tobacco, Pink Pepper, Coriander

MIDDLE: The heart of the perfume

Oud, Patchouli, Vetiver

BASE: The notes that linger all day

Tonka Bean, Labdanum, Cedarwood

Go to like a Macy's, sephora, or any retail that sells it, test it on yourself. See how it does throught the day. I have TF wood oud.

You can find it on the discount sites if you are gonna buy it.
