Union Strike Has Philly Residents Living Like Oscar The Grouch

It makes no sense how everyone, including citicizens, business owners, and politicians alike can recognize that wages are too low for the average worker to simply support their self, let alone a family, and yet these companies and cities still don't want to pay anyone a living wage. What are they expecting people to do?

They complain that people aren't having children, yet don't provide a sustainable way for the average person to raise a child.

...greed

These are the jobs people don't think are important until they stop being done

On that note, no one wants to give the postal service workers a better wage. The USPS is the most under appreciated industry in the U.S. There is no other service that deals with more for less. If I had the money I would pay for their raise myself. I know its not perfect, but considering its importance, that should be a minimum six figures job.

I understand your sentiment but this is a local/state government issue no?
Still though, the fed gives assistance to local/state governments and if they pushed more back to states instead of overseas the states can pay people a better wage.

Hmm

IDK how it's done everywhere else but this is what my local tax dollars go to. If there's ever a raise or anything for my vote, I always choose yes.
It’s all about budget allocation. If they get more fed funds, they can allocate funds from other areas to these salaries.
