This is a spinoff of the "Is HipHop Dead" thread.

I think the conversation is deeper than HipHop. Entertainment as a whole, among other things are dying.

Who are the great singers, actors, comedians, directors, etc from Generation Z that's gonna carry the baton?

This a wild thread. Aren't the majority of Gen z still teenagers? Give them kids time.
Well Gen Z goes up to 28 years old

I guess because there’s no tiger woods or Williams sisters, or Micheal Jacksons it’s this way

Think there's a lil bit of nuance with the bold.

For example Michael B Jordan been acting since he was a kid. Even those he did some well known projects then (The Wire, Hardball, etc). He wasn't seen as this big star til the last 10 years or so. So while there might not be a lot of 21 year olds, with high status now, it'll probably come later in their careers.

Same with comedians(I going to assume you're talking about stand up), Bill Burr and Ali Sadiq are 2 of my favorites. They both started doing stand up in 90s, and with Burr he was even on Chappelle Show. But both of there big success have come post 2010s.

So you probably have to give it some time, unless it's like @5th Letter said, it some athlete.

I saw three kids in school who made a prosthetic leg for their homeboy using robotics... So I mean the kids are definitely smart.... It's just we're not always going to acknowledge talent of it's not producing in the ways we expect to see talent.

In their mind their generation is as talented as ours, if not more... We just gotta accept we've aged outta the focus group... And the world isn't built for us anymore.

It's catered to them... So it's not up to us to determine who is taking us forward or how it looks.... It's up to them to make that determination. So you gotta ask kids 18-21 who they consider great in their generation. A person in their 40's gonna think everybody and everything is trash....

Just to add perspective; by the age of 28:

Nas had dropped Stillmatic

Will Smith had done Fresh Prince; Men In Black; Independence Day, etc

Usher had already dropped Confessions

Eddie Murphy had done 2 classic stand ups, Coming To America, Beverly Hills Cops, etc

Pac and BIG died at 24 and 25

Kendrick dropped GKMC, TPAB and DAMN

Chappelle Show was made

I can go on.

This is still wild but it's also my bad for not reading the OP and just skimming it.

I didn't know this was just for entertainment.

Nah, certain things aren't subjective.

Will Smith was the biggest movie star in the world. You didn't have to be 16 to acknowledge that. Same with Kevin Hart for example in regards to comedy.

You didn't have to be 17 to acknowledge the impact of Confessions.

Probably some good athletes and it seems a lot are into gaming so I do like how this generation isn’t super obsessed with being cool. But as far as music goes idk

And should we care.

And as far as directors tho most directors that we know are older except for Ryan Coogler

It’s not just entertainment those were just the easiest things I came up with

While this is 100% correct. This generation be making $6 million in a year on YouTube when they like 15

The metrics are different
