COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

This is such a reach, its incredible really. No one had issues with the likes of Bowman or Cori Bush....you know two black politicians who got ousted in primaries because of AIPAC's influence. While the likes of Hakeem Jeffries.....

It's not a reach. Think outside of the bubble of Black voters that actually keep up with politics.

How many of them know what AIPAC is? How many of them give a fuck?

Where do you think donors lies on the lost of things that Black voters care about?

I have news for you. The talk about donors, campaign financing, dark money, etc, these are talking points and issues that are focused on by.....non-Black people who try to elevate those things as a priority.

How many niggas in Mississippi give a fuck about dirty money in politics? You think those niggas care more about their education, access to affordable housing, food, childcare, making a living wage? Yes they probably do, but you would think that listening to how people talk about the Democratic party (including some Democrats) the Democratic voters care more about corrupt politics than those things that I mentioned.

Now tell me that doesn't sound like a situation where non-Black people hijacked what the real issues are in favor of things that impact THEM more than US.

Dirty money in politics a bigger problem for non-Black people than Black people but you would think that it's the biggest issue in the Democratic party. That's because the people peddling these talking points aren't Bla...........

Lol.

Democrats are never beating the allegations that they hate Progressives as much as they hate Republicans

Be specific when you say Democrats though. The entire Progressive movement rides the Democrats wave and the backs of Black people.

"Progressives" has been weaponized as a term to mean Democrats who are not Black because they realized that the base of think Democratic party is Black.

Every Tweet you see categorizing Democrats vs Progressives is a fancy way of saying Black people versus non-Black people.

If Progressives we really Democrats, they wouldn't have started an uncommit movement against a Black woman POTUS candidate.

At the end of the day, Republicans fell right line behind MAGA. They were going to ALL fall in line behind their guy no matter what because they knew what time it was at the end of the day.

On the flipside, we had an entire movement of Palistenians who were very loud and clear about their inability to vote for Kamala Harris. There was an entire movement of Left Wingers that couldn't hold their nose and vote for Kamala Harris. Even the way I'm explaining it frames it like Kamala Harris is a worse person than Donald Trump and that's exactly how those people wanted it.

So now these same "Progressives" are dunking on "Democrats" (Black people), because they won one primary. Now their movement is going to be fighting against MAGA, Republicans, and ironically a Black Democrat in Eric Adams (Independent), and these "Progressives" have the nerve to demand support from "Democrats"(Black people)?

Nah................

There's nothing wrong with wanting new leadership in the Democratic party.

However.....................................

If this new leadership or movement does not have Black people out in front, then it's not a movement at all.

The Democratic party you are speaking of is the one that has been propped up and backed by no groups stronger and more consistent than Black people. So why is it that when people talk about the Democratic party moving forward, the faces leading the movement aren't Black?

Who is the future of the Democratic party? AOC? A Latino woman from New York married to a white man? Zohran Mamdani? An Indian man who is only 33 years old? Bernie Sanders? David Hogg? A white boy who was platformed after surviving a school shooting?

I just............

You have people in Congress like Lauren Underwood who actually do the things that people think AOC does but nobody is platforming her. They use Jasmine Crockett as a punching bag to talk down on Black women in her position.

I just think it's funny how the energy changes when the people in the front aren't..................Black.
Start listening to your girl!!
There is a path to get reparations, it's just going to take unified effort from all of us to get it done.

Look at rise of the freedom caucus/tea party of the Republican party. They were so pissed off after Obama was elected they started running for literally every kind of political office that they could at all levels eventually having enough power to sway the party to their will.

We gotta start recruiting and electing people who really believe in our issues and this is the perfect time to get started because the era of middle of road Democrats like Biden, Pelosi, Munchin, and Schumer who simply fake pander to Blacks will be coming to an end and party will move in a more progressive direction. Plus the number Trump has done with Republicans will probably take at least a generation to repair.

What do those people we need to start electing look like? David Hogg? AOC? Zohran?
They can be a purple people eater as long as there is a genuine interest in making Black voices heard. You have to admit that how Democrats are working right now isn't working in the current political environment.

You were hoping Coumo won, huh. You actually think Eric Adams is a Democrat when he's leaned all the way to the right since being indicted

What? I think you’re confused. You’re acting like I’m opposed to new leadership in the Democratic Party. I’m not opposed.

The problem that I have is that WE have been the core of this party and WE are being phased out of what the new party leadership is supposedly trying to look like.

Was there a candidate in 2024 that made an effort to show genuine interest in making Black voices heard? Did she not do that? You don’t have to answer that.

Let’s talk about right now. Right now there are people who weaponized their votes in the past to the detriment of Black people who are now expecting US to follow them.

That doesn’t seem fucked up to you?
