COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Anytime someone say that Democrats should take lessons, ask them what they mean by Democrats.................

Tell me how they are not talking directly to Black people?

How?

These people are using Establishment Democrats as a cover to weaken Black peoples place in society.

A perfect example is how the protesting since Trump won has gone. Look at how weak the resistance movement has been......I don't know if niggas have noticed, but since the Election in November 2024, Black people have largely stood by and got out of the way. We're not asking people to do the right thing anymore. We're not fighting battles for all of the non-Black people anymore. Trump won and immediately started deporting Latinos. Niggas ain't doing shit about it either.......

Black people have really been letting "Others" fight their own battles.

The audacity of "Others" to DEMAND our support though.........

That's.........wild as fuck too me.......

Some should start listening to your girl...
I'm going to push back on this because while the Democratic party is by no means perfect, the opportunity for us to make real political progress would have been much easier with them in power. The thing that is talked about so little is that the era of Biden/Pelosi/Schumer is coming to an end. Look at whose becoming the power players within the Democratic Party. Look at who in the party is becoming the most visible and I'm not talking about Kamala. If you're really paying attention the ideology has already begun to change. My hope is that 2-4 years from now the opportunity is still there.

I was essentially labeled a racist yesterday cause I'm down for some of the Establishent Dems to be primaried lol

There's nothing wrong with wanting new leadership in the Democratic party.

However.....................................

If this new leadership or movement does not have Black people out in front, then it's not a movement at all.

The Democratic party you are speaking of is the one that has been propped up and backed by no groups stronger and more consistent than Black people. So why is it that when people talk about the Democratic party moving forward, the faces leading the movement aren't Black?

Who is the future of the Democratic party? AOC? A Latino woman from New York married to a white man? Zohran Mamdani? An Indian man who is only 33 years old? Bernie Sanders? David Hogg? A white boy who was platformed after surviving a school shooting?

I just............

You have people in Congress like Lauren Underwood who actually do the things that people think AOC does but nobody is platforming her. They use Jasmine Crockett as a punching bag to talk down on Black women in her position.

I just think it's funny how the energy changes when the people in the front aren't..................Black.

This is such a reach, its incredible really. No one had issues with the likes of Bowman or Cori Bush....you know two black politicians who got ousted in primaries because of AIPAC's influence. While the likes of Hakeem Jeffries.....

As long as Bernie supporters want to keep pretending race doesn't matter they will never make the headway they want. They're like the peak of "I don't see race" white people who think that shit is a compliment

Who is the us he is referring to? It can't be young people because I don't recall any young Black activist being fast tracked like this boy was.
I'm confused on who he thinks he's speaking for.

Let's also keep in mind that the Black support for the Democratic party is everywhere that Black people are.

Imagine campaigning in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and trotting out David Hogg in front of Black voters and telling them that this is the future of the party that they built.

Iono...................

There's a reason why Bernie Sanders could never come close to winning a Primary, let alone a General Election. Bernie Sanders is NOT electable to the base of the Democratic party. The base of the Democratic party is Black people and even more specifically, Black women.

Like, if you had to give one person the most credit for why Georgia was Blue in 2020, who would that person be and why would it not be Stacy Abrams? A Black woman. We're talking about Georgia here. A place with a high density of Black people. So why couldn't Bernie Sanders get enough support in places like Georgia and the south or, areas with a high density of Black people?

Makes you wonder...................

The faces of the future of the Democratic party aren't Black enough. The energy people have for the future of the party is not rooted in getting rid of old Democratic leadership. Bernie Sanders is in his 70's and he's the God of their movement.....

The fight for the future of the Democratic party is not about what the current leadership looks like. It's about, what the base that has supported that leadership looks like. That base is Black. From Joe Biden to Jimmy Carter to JFK. The base is Black.

So this new movement in the Democratic party is not just about seeing new faces because we've had new faces in the party for years.

Nah.

It's about people trying to displace the base of the party. They would much rather hijack the Democratic party from Black people than to let us have it and that's what has been and is currently going on.
