Voters aren't thinking capitalism v socialism, they're thinking about economic relief and focusing less on foreign governments. Status quo made a so called socialist candidate appealing.

What we've been doing just isn't working. And clearly the empty suits just didn't cut it this time. But it's still not over.

Eh, the people who voted for Mamdani were white liberals, and asians. Socialism works for the wealthy elites and no one else. It keeps the rich...rich, and the poor...poor. People with families, careers or businesses over there are the ones left out. NYC is finally getting back on it's feet after covid and it's about to be undercut.

That's not to say the other candidates are great either, but picking the worst of them all is just wild. Not like I can say much when LA isn't any better

Well no, that's bullshit. I make seven figures and didn't grow well off. The VAST majority of others I know who came up did the same. The ability to use your skill/knowledge to move up in the world is a trait of capitalism. That shit doesn't happen in communism, you're stuck where you are. The growth of wealth in our communities is proof positive of that. It's also why half the world is trying to move here

I'm not defending socialism at all I agree with u there. But why do u say NYC was getting back on it's feet finally?

As a nation we've been capitalists from inception and life is more unaffordable than it's ever been, with record debts we've never had.
