The GOAT Jerseys are back

The Knicks want to do this? Cool. I'm not even mad at it.

But why would Kidd want this? You got a team of Kyrie, AD, and the new great white hope. Plus you got lively and gafford. That rim protection gonna be crazy.

The Knicks got a good team that will be competitive in the East for atleast the next 5-6 years too, but damn, you tell me I can coach the guy who is about to become the most popular player in the league and have AD and Kyrie around for the transition years? That's too fucking good to pass up.

Unless Kidd feels like what Nico did behind his back is too much to come back from.

He following the money. If new York meets his number he'll leave Dallas.

Mavs organization ain’t all that great

Who would you like to see as your next head coach? @AZTG @Ironman
Idk really. A part of me thinks we need to get a young assistant coach who is up next and has experience putting some of these young creative offenses together.

But then I'm like this team really isn't in a position to get a young coach that can grow along with the team, and they need a established coach instead.

Honesty I even talked myself into Jason Kidd. I been a kidd hater forever but then when I think about it, he had good years with the Mavs. He put together two top 5 defenses around Luka and Kyrie which sounds impossible to do. He also did coach a team that went to the finals.

Kidd wouldn't be my first or second choice, but I can't be too mad looking at his resume.

As long as we don't go the Ime or Mike Malone route, I'm good. It's not that those two aren't good coaches, it's just that their style is way too similar to Thibs, and firing Thibs to hire them doesn't make any sense.

Personally a fresh start coach like Dan Hurley from college or one of Johnny Bryant or another assistant. Someone young and growing now not the J Kidds, the Imes, or Mike Browns of the world. I don't believe any of the news right now anyway I'm unplugged from all the coaching news.

I thought Hurley would be at the top of the list. Surprised there isn’t more chatter about that. My guess is that there’s some connection between Kidd and Gianis. Maybe Gianis is requesting for Kidd before green lighting a trade?

The wild thing is, we can pay Mikail cause we have his rights, but we can't spend that much money on anyone else. It's not like someshit where they can say nah we can spend this 30-40 mil on someone else. Even if we let him salary expire, we would still be right around the cap. Maybe a bit under or a bit over.

So we have no choice but to give him a contact. I just hope it's a number that's easier to trade.

You know how they talk about being comfortable being uncomfortable?

This is one of those situations I would be fine taking that route

If I'm the Knicks I'm ok taking this into this season, next summer or just trading him

I'd offer him a 3 year max or a 4 year deal at a reduced amount...not getting a 4 year max though

Hate to say it but thats what a good gm does. Collect players/assets, develop them, and wait until you can bust a move. That's when it gets tricky tho.

Outside of Reed Sheppard he doing well.

I don't want to overpay for someone but I don't want to run this same team back again next season either

We don't have to trade for Giannis or KD and can improve along the margins and just see how things look at the trade deadline...just add some shooting/playmaking this summer and that would go a long way for us
