That Met Gala shit is weird. I've never really understood what it's all about. I've seen pics and it always looks like a bunch of celebrities taking an opportunity to look like they just came from a comic book or are trying to be the next Disney cartoon villain.

With all the shit going on now, it really seems tone deaf for the rich people to be doing shit like that and flaunting it all over the TV and net. I don't know.

Turned on my TV and I saw Flintstones show was on. Never been a fan. Decided to watch for a little bit. I never gave it any thought when I was younger but how did they have tvs in that time? Everything was used by dinosaurs except the tvs.

The Gala is a charity event for the costume institute at the Met which is why the outfits are always so over the top. I can see how it can be seen as tone deaf, but this year the theme is The Black dandy and how black men in particular have used fashion as a form rebellion across the diaspora.

Ahhh, that makes more sense.

What's the charity? The Met (museum I presume) itself?

I mean. I think stuff like that is stupid, but it's not bad just because I don't like it. If it's all for a good cause then it is what it is.
It’s my distrust in big fashion brands and celebrities

When I see folks like shaboozy dressing up the way he was knowing that’s completely out of left field for him and the hand signs he was making just make me side eye.

I've always thought the shit was just a big party thrown for elites by elites, and the coverage it got always rubbed me the wrong way.

The only reason I brought it up this time was because it was all over my youtube feed in a way that never usually happens. Given @Tayboo's explanation, it makes more sense now. Since the event was black man themed this year, more black athletes and entertainers attended, which pushed the algorithm to bombard me with it.

know something that used to piss me off? When you were in a long drought you watch a show where there’s a trope of some male character actively trying to avoid sex with a attractive female character for some stupid reason..

The way Steve used to duck Myra used to piss me off
