Well native Americans are native to the Americas hence the name

They were some of the first settlers in America even though there's evidence of visitors from Africa and Scandinavia as well.
There's also historical passage proving that they may have originally been a nomadic group from Siberia crossing the beringia.

As far as them hunting vampires in the movie. My guess is most native tribes probably came across spirits or passed a long stories of haints much like the Africans in the movie.

This tribe probably suffered some attacks and rounded up a hunting party for the Irishman.

This is just my best guess from the little history I know and the plot provided from the movie

I took my mother to see it Saturday and she enjoyed it. It had some flaws and holes but overall I enjoyed it too. I think everybody nailed their roles and I thought Mike B did a great job playing the twins and every time they were on the screen they had a commanding presence. Can not wait to see what they both do next together and separate. Mike has come a very long way and I seen hat episode of the Cosby show he was in back int he day, but never knew that was him until now. This movie doing so good going up against a Marvel movie says a few things. Black leads can be profitable (obviously), original movies are wanted by customers, and if studios put out quality movies (looking at you Sony) people will support them.

I think what happens in Hollywood is they get spooked when they try to do something original and it flops. For probably every good original film that has success you probably got 5, maybe 10 or more that flop. It’s a probability game.

They should look at those flops as learning lessons though instead of cautionary tales. I would say just go with good original filmmakers but Shyamalan probably killed that path, lol.

That is true too, but when you look back at OG movies that were new (Star Wars, Matrix, John Wick, Independence Day, Blade etc.) all of those movies stood apart from their competition even when there were similarities. Even though this movie has vampires I cannot compare it to anything outside of that. As I said it does have its flaws, but it is a unique and quality film. Hollywood has become to formulaic just like gaming and just like gaming (Expedition 33) customers do want something new and different.

M. Knight WATS got something dumb ass plot twist yet they keep green-lighting his movies LOL. Maybe they should give other's ideas a chance instead.
 
So many layers, themes, emotions….

Michael’s acting was brilliant, his best yet!

The Irish vampire reciting the Lord’s Prayer with Sammy made me tear eyed…such a powerful scene about religion/spirituality

The dance scene shot was AMAZING!! I felt like I was there.

The vampire (evil) reciting with Sammy (a believer) challenges the religious ideals that believers can “ward off evil” or identify false prophets using scripture but what was shown is that “evil” or “false prophets” knows scripture as well.
 
Mind you I'm high but am I tripping or wasn't there news somewhere that Jonathan Majors was supposed to be in this movie?

He was supposed to be the brother MBJ but he got caught up in his shit and they had MBJ play twins?
