lack of financial education.
little to no ownership of property
Blaxploitation in the late 70's and 80's
we care more about showing up to our kids football game than their PTA meeting.
Hyper violence entertainment rises in the mid 2000's
school choice matched with poor school funding
lack of knowledge in other revenue ventures (tech, medicine, transportation)
Over whelming flow of drugs in the 80's Matched with bad policing
Lack of community ownership HOA's and Neighborhood Watches
Poor leadership from Congressional leaders not recognizing key issues
Way to much of a dependency on the Church
look to self not to others but come together as a collective within the community to move it forward
 
My biggest gripe with anyone's complaint about the state of society and the direction we're going is that it's always done from a pedestal or a perspective that places them apart from those that influenced the changes. We look at society as something happening around us despite our objection. I rarely ever see any personal accountability. You would swear all the issues in your community are the result of strangers from outerspace.

We don't hold ourselves accountable nor one another. We look back and wonder what happened, but no one stopped to check their friends and family for not upholding certain standards, and enforce consequences for not upholding them. I fear that we have now reached a state where more people would rather keep searching for a source to blame than actually make any changes that reflect accountability.

You can only do so much bruh.

I've been warning y'all about how Android and iOS and their respective apps are constantly spying on you since the IC. Told y'all why I disabled spellcheck on android back then too the moment I found out every word you type is sent back to google and apple and whole convos could likely be reconstructed if necessary. Lotta shit I've said about this tech and how it can negatively impact your life.

How many of y'all listened???

I've told my kids the same, told my wife the same, moms, siblings, friends... Ain't nobody listening.

So what is one person supposed to do??? Keep trying, or start focusing on what I can control, which is what I've been doing.

That is all you really can do. That is all life has ever been in history. The masses never do what's best for ourselves when that opportunity is first available. We always choose the ignorance is bliss route.

All you can do is live how you best see fit and maybe you will start a trend. Though since culture is our construction, it will always reflect the best and worst of us.

lol, dude is making jokes, but the break down of the family and communities overall is what's killing society. The lack of mutual respect between partners, between old and young, between neighbors is the only really difference from 20+ years ago, and it's been massive. Self-improvement, honor, loyalty, sacrifice are all dwindling as a trait. And we just make endless excuses for it. People aren't starting families like they used, and those that do have people in their ears constantly trying to break them up. Most of the media portrays family life as bad, it's been brainwashed into people. 40% of kids born are to unmarried women. And many lazy parents give their kids pills and tablets to pacify them.
