Zebra cakes and cosmic brownies are absolutely disgusting but I've had the same experience, just can't eat them anymore. But back in the day:

Oatmeal creme
Swiss roll
Strawberry shortcake

are my shit I don't eat them as much anymore but occasionally I get one especially the double-decker oatmeal cream pie

Hostess was nearly excellent before high fructose corn syrup took over. that shit fucked everything up. lil debbie is a byproduct of hell itself with them delicious looking pictures that suckered my ass. fuck lil deb forever and ever. Entenmanns was cool for basics but i think they even fell off a bit
 
What I missed out on in my childhood was the OG Dolly Madison cakes. They used to advertise them during every Charlie Brown special but they weren't sold at any store in either city I grew up in that I can recall. Hostess apparently bought them out some years ago so there's no telling if it's the same.
