OPINION What are your thoughts about designer brands now China has ruined the allure

Flea markets bout be jumping lol
They still jumping

I know baton rouge isn't the only city where these "urban boutique" stores in the mall are popping up. If you think those shoes are really from Nike... Then...

Just don't be naive and embrace the shit at this point.

Niggas out here letting these YouTube sneaker shops fool people trying to bend shoes and tapping the heel trying to call them "fake"

The best way to avoid this shit is to simply wear your shoes and stop trying to buy low and sell high

I been trying to tell niggas this for almost 10 years.

But nobody listen to ole Du 🤕
Where you misstepped initially was trying to pass off the shoes like you got the hookup cause you weren't versed in sneaker culture to know there were less than ten pair made iirc

That was a dead giveaway

Then you doubled down, which in that case, I'm glad you did cause it was one of the funniest Internet moments I've witnessed in real time

My double down was that they were all made in the same factory and only 10 of them were "official" but they had a surplus of unofficial ones...

I was definitely talking out my ass. But I was prolly closer to being right than anyone ever gave me credit for

I don't remember it happening this way lol

But still hilarious nonetheless

The best part was when the pic made some sneaker forum when it was either Jim Jones or Fat Joe had a pair... Niggas used a pic of me holding them as a reference point to how long the shoes been proven to be fake

Shit was comedy all over again

Strange this popped up as my friend just got back from India and the surrounding areas and bought back loads of high quality unbranded cashmere sweaters that cost pennies that would go for a fortune in US/EU...

Still while alot of luxury branded goods are made in China or the materials are sourced from there, its still wild that you can normally spot 'fake' version of products, especially sneakers... Even if they 'come out the same factory', just like when you go to TK/TJ Maxx and buy the actual official/reject versions, they still have poor craftsmanship and errors... Saying that, quality control for sneakers has dropped over the years, period...

I dont buy Gucci, LV etc anymore anyways as I find big logos cringe as Ive gotten older, I dont wanna wear what the guy next to me is wearing, plus the prices are a rip off tbh especially as the quality isnt that good anyway... Though I do still fck with abit of Polo and the some mainstream brands for shirts...

With that being said, cheap clothes and fast fashion isnt the way either though, a) its bad for the environment and b) it doesnt last... Instead I try purchase vintage clothing that was made far better or 'luxury' goods from independent or smaller brands that use high quality materials and craftsmanship... Like wool from Scotland, Ireland, Cornwall etc

I always big up this brand:

I would feel embarrassed to wear designer logos all over me like a billboard. It's kind of vulgar and a way to say "Hey look at me! I can afford those expensive luxury clothes! Look!"

99.9% of strangers crossing you in the streets don't give a single fuck about the (designer) brand you are wearing...

They need to take this momentum, put up a site and market the shit out of it...theyd make even more bank if they can figure out how to get shit stateside quickly 🤷🏽‍♂️

The sites have been around since before Facebook.

I was on SGHGate during the MySpace era when niggas who never crossed the Mississippi River used to yell how all of that shit was fake.

This was like 05. Fast Forward to 2013. I'm deployed in Afghanistan. We stopped in Germany on our way there. A few of us were walking around the airport and we were at a terminal that was all UPS planes and then there were some other shipping branded planes. The non UPS planes were loaded with clothes, bags, shoes, and linens from China. The German workers at the airport were telling us that this is the stuff that we (Americans) are buying in our malls. They were explaining to us how the good =s weren't fake but they ra e more than likely being acquired at an extremely cheap price and later on sold outside of the high end stores. We pretty much saw how niggas get a trunk full of bags at the mall.

I read they are treating this like they were treating the assumed tik tok ban and they were trying to get people to sign up for Rednote

They are trying to ship directly to US citizens
