NBA Ratings Up This Season!

They turned a hockey topic into "Bron vs Kobe vs Jordan".

lol It wasn't really a hockey topic. It was a topic featuring Lebron. And yes, at this point, every topic about either Lebron or MJ will turn into Lebron vs MJ. That's just the state of things right now. The Kobe disrespect was wild though. Other dude was like "MJ ok, but let's not get crazy and throw Kobe in there."

Watching the playoffs and see Cleveland killing it like they been all season. This is another problem for the NBA. They not highlighting good teams, just popular players. And they not even highlighting the best player from the best teams.

So if Cleveland goes to the finals they’re going to be a largely unknown team with largely unknown players and casual fans not going to tune in.

Same thing happened with Boston until they went to the finals in 2022.

Back in the 90’s you knew the starting 5 of damn near every team so whoever made it to the finals you were interested.

To be fair, the CLE/MIA series wasn't competitive, so it makes sense they aren't getting much coverage especially when there are some entertaining series going on right now.

What I mean is Cleveland wasn’t highlighted much this year during the regular season, at least in the eyes of the casual viewer. The NBA should have put as much of a spotlight on Mitchell and Cleveland as they did GS, LA, MN, etc. There wasn’t even a lot of spotlight on Boston and they are the defending champs who are still killing it.

I follow ESPN on social media and all I see is LeBron, Doncic, Curry, Edwards, etc. I don’t think I’ve seen one post about Mitchell and Cleveland and very few of Tatum/Brown and Boston.

I get that. People like Charles Barkley have been making that point for a while.

They promoted the Cavs mainly in response to people saying they weren't. They flexed the Cavs vs Thunder games into national games after fan backlash. It's also considered a mid market team and unless those teams get a player like a Bron or KD they're coverage will always fall short of major city teams. Even the bullshit going on with Jimmy and Miami got more coverage because it's Miami and they've been trash all season
