Goat Rap One Hit Wonder Nomination Thread

Black Rob had 2 solid albums and has been featured on many BIG hit songs unlike others being listed.

Also one of Bad Boys best lyricist.

We talking about one hit wonders tho which is hits that crossed over to the pop charts. Biz only got one tho he’s had charting singles on the rap charts. Black Rob does have features on songs by Diddy and G-Dep that charted so you can kinda make a case for him not being a one hit wonder.. but the masses know him for “Whoa” & that’s his only charting song as a solo artist.

Technically the original song the one that charted (peaked at number 9). He even got a Grammy nomination off it.

Incorrect: Yes, the original charted and hit #9 on the Hot 100, but "Can I Get Down" also charted, hitting #38 on the Hot 100 and even making it to #2 on the Rap and Dance charts.

Craig Mack shouldn't be included on this if the criteria is to only have ONE song hit the Hot100 chart.

Be real… does anyone really remember that song? There’s a lot of one hit wonders that have second singles that charted for a moment but they are so forgettable they can’t shake the one hit wonders label. Craig Mack fits the criteria.

One hit wonders when it comes to black artists for us I’ve always thought were different. Cuz while industry standards consider a “hit” as anything in the top 40, for us if a black artist charted period it’s considered a win.

Then, by your own account, Crag Mack doesn't qualify as a "one hit wonder"; he has two Top 40 hits. I remembered that song 'cause it was actually fairly big. Video was in rotation, turn on the radio and "Can I get doooooown, get down, get on down " is coming through the speakers and alladat.
