American Airlines Flight 5342 collided with a Black Hawk helicopter near D.C. Airport

Last year, there were 1,417 aviation crashes. In January, there were 80 crashes and 93 in February. There were 258 fatal plane crashes in 2024, with 19 in January and 12 in February. So far this year, there have been 99 aviation accidents, with 63 total crashes in January and 36 in February. Fourteen of these crashes were fatal, 10 in January and four in February.

Seems like business as usual. Has nothing to do with trump or Elon as tasty as that story would be. People need to stop politicizing this. Focus should be on Boeing and pilots. Most of these accidents are pilot error.

I wasn't hip to the exact stats, but I figured this. The news cycle has definitely been running these stories to the ground. Trump's orders and DOGE's cuts wouldn't even affect air safety to that level for another few months at the earliest. Niggas still ain't learn.
