Hulu Paradise (Season 2)

Added to Calendar: 01-28-25, 02-23-26

For whatever reason I thought the Librarian was killed when he first tried to shoot the president. Never even thought of him after that and him being the killer was great.

With that said ol girl is a psychopath and she was serious about that Wii damn. The shot of her playing the Wii in her living room was hilarious.

Homie just going to fly off find one woman and think he's just going to fly away after scooping her and leave others stranded is a dummy mission. I get it that's the wife and you'll do whatever you can to save her but I don't think he's thinking it through. People are trying to survive an apocalypse people not about to let shit slide it's everyone for themselves at that point.

Great series I'll give it a 9/10 and this finale a 8/10

Eh, they did a terrible job on the killer reveal. Felt like it came out of nowhere. The attempted assassination was not significant enough to the overall story to even be thinking about who the attacker was. And for him to get triggered to that level by simply seeing the president in person was a reach.

They should have somehow connected the librarian to the story all along but not have made it obvious he was the killer. Maybe make him an unassuming friend of a main character that shows up from time to time and at some point he tells them a story of a lost love. Since he’s married to a woman you wouldn’t think a gay lover, but as this episode goes on certain elements from the story he told starts to mirror the episode and it starts to come together for the viewer.

And I have no idea what Jane’s deal is. Her acting like that came out of nowhere too.

Lol

I respectfully disagree

This isn't like the movie scream where the killers were getting major screen time the whole movie and even in that movie, up until the reveal, you still didn't know who it was

I figured most of the stuff was misdirection. I thought they did a great job of that. No one suspected the librarian which made the reveal that much better. Why? Cause he didn't get a lot of screen time to have you list him as a suspect. Everyone else had some sort of motive mainly Sinatra

There still has to be some sort of an established solid connection between the killer and the victim so as the reveal unfolds the connection gets solidified in the viewers mind.

Even if some of the info on the iPad was in relation to the death of the workers or something that would have been enough. Maybe have the president mention it to Sinatra as being fucked up and reveal in the episode that Sinatra knew the worker was the killer back when it happened but she kept it from the president. That would have made it even crazier that he killed a person that actually sympathized with the workers.

You're proving my point lol

What's the better reveal?

Finding out Sinatra actually was behind it or the fact she had nothing to do with it?

Probably one of my biggest questions heading into the finale was, damn, how did they even build all of that to begin with. Well maybe not biggest but it was certainly a lingering one that to me was like the question most people don't think about it cause they just apply TV logic/magic. The other question was how long would something like this take if it was real life.

The finale finally answered this and I still didn't really think anything of it other than, oh ok, it took twelve years and damn that's messed up about the workers that died.

You can't tell someone to put an expiration date on beef. So for me, this was a complete and masterful use of misdirection and red herrings.

Imma go for another watch. But I still think this is pretty mid

I really wasn’t sure to be honest. I definitely didn’t see it being the librarian that we only saw once (well twice if you include the flashback assassination attempt that barely showed him).

It would have been even more intriguing if it were a character with at least as much exposure as the bartender to the audience.

I’m not mad at who it was at all. My issue is that the killer was a character who had no exposure the entire season.

They should have interweaved the worker plot earlier and have it be a bit of a recurring reference throughout the season. It would have been better if they let the foreman be an actual known citizen who talked about his work on the city from time to time. Maybe have little but seemingly insignificant references to the work done. Maybe even have him join the resistance as a source that knows all of the ins and outs of the infrastructure. Then let it be revealed he was plotting the whole time to take out the President and Sinatra, but of course he never got to Sinatra before being exposed.

I think the reveal should be just as much a shock to other characters as it is to the audience. X was basically like, oh ok.

I don’t know, there’s a million ways to play this other than using a largely unknown character the entire season as the killer.
