Govs scan only appoint Senators if they die in office.. But your right about Governors controlling when special elections can be held.. And MAGA Govs in other states have played games with the dates special elections have been held in order to hurt democratic voter turnout…

What are you basing that on? He never got far enough for Reps to have a chance to vote for him. The Never Trumpers would have definitely voted for him over Trump.
