COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Remove all of our theories and let’s say for a moment that they believe in what they are doing is the right things. Removing the responsibility of the federal government to do these things, leaving a lot up to the states and giving huge tax cuts to corporations and the rich.

What exactly do they think will happen. Let’s say you are a person that believes in this approach. What exactly would you expect to happen?
For the blue States they can survive most of these cuts and less Fed govt. The red States are going to crumble because they have the money or GDP to start handling the services the Feds was doing.

I'm actually cool with cutting some of the money blown on dumb shit but that's just wasteful stuff only. I think should stop giving Israel money, cut defense spending, shut down over seas bases. Bring them soldiers home and let them help with infrastructure upgrades. The US is 20yrs behind in China infrastructure (I'm bias on this not going to lie due to my line of work)

thats the thing with "bringing it back to the states"

If im not mistaken red states take in waaaaay more federal dollars than blue states than they actually contribute. If the federal faucet is getting turned off or redirected wouldnt the red states feel it first and the most?

Dah well

Yes the Red States are going to feel it the worst especially the rural areas they don't have the GDP or jobs to help their people. purple states like NC and GA with large populated cities that pushes up the GDP may be able sustain the hit that will be coming but everywhere else is going to be hit bad maybe not FL

I've seen a couple news spots where they've talked to teachers in red states and counties about this and they're just convinced it won't hit them. They admitted that they know trump has spoken about things like dismantling the DOE but they don't think he's actually serious

I’m going to ask this again. Are we sure Trump’s not trying to destroy America? The only thing he’s done that’s made a little bit of sense was tighten up immigration.

Across the board tariffs, blatantly siding with Russia, indiscriminate federal spending cuts, indiscriminate federal job cuts, etc. None of this shit is even politically advantageous. The only explanation is that it’s personally advantageous.

Is it possible Putin told Trump he’s going to attack a NATO country next regardless what the US does, so it’s best for the US to get out of NATO or go to war with them. And Trump chose to concede to keep the US out of it.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence he keeps bringing up World War III and constantly invoking a desire for peace or no war…for the US.
