Now the tone of how he said it could be anywhere from looking out for a peer - to being pressed by a Crip. Either way it brought out the WHITEBOY in Cole for him to do something hip hop has never seen before

Cole went out on some "I don't want to get beat up after school" shit instead of realizing standing up to the bully win or lose would get you more respect, like in the Wood

Cole responded to Control and as we see now, that whole Like That verse shit lead to just gimmicks and memes. If it was about who was the better guy, he would've been down for sure.

Agree to the point that he needed a better exit route that he did. It was a bad look particularly he did it in front of his festival.

Yet, he sounds like he just hit his prime recently. I can't think of another rapper that has grown this late and this much.

It's just about unprecedented as an artist in general. Some reach their peak and pretty much stay around their for a long time.

Rapper wise:

Hov gets to rap about things he always wanted to rap about consistently without the expectations of making singles foe the radio, carry a label, or have a specific sound. Now when he does drop verses, bar for bar, it's better than the vast majority of things he dropped in the past.


Nas updated some things but the key was finding a modern sound and hit boy empowered his flow with his sound.

Arguably Push is far better than he was 15 yrs ago even much less when he dropped MNIMN.

Lupe was always a nigga who can do whatever he wanted on the mic, it was just on him to actually decide to create something balance with some easier tunes to expand his reach.

The difference with Cole is that he's not only not done peaking as a lyrical rapper but also commercially either. The rest of his peers are done at least on one front if not both.

Jokes aside I am actually looking forward to Cole’s album. I really want it to be good. He can still be that nigga to me…
