The Photography Thread

Ended up selling all of my Sony gear and joining team Fujifilm.

Damn, I've never seen a crop sensor (APS-C) camera that expensive.

I'mma always have an APS-C camera in my collection, but I'm going to upgrade my current one to something a bit newer later next month and I'll prolly cop a full frame joint in May after the rez check comes.

Yea it's expensive af, but it's the perfect street photography camera.

And like I said earlier in the thread, I don't see myself ever doing any edits in Lightroom using this camera. Every photo already has a classic film look coming straight out of the camera. Saves mad time.

I just took these with the Fujifilm. No editing (I flipped the 3rd pic upside down if that counts), this is how it looks straight out of the camera.

These look good gives it that 80's ish vibes. Would've been nice to see the comparison of your old camera and the new one

Zero edits. This is how the pics look straight out of the camera. It's 90% of the reason I switched to Fujifilm, now I don't have to worry about edits for most pics.
I don't use any editing software other than what's in the camera. But I know when I have got family pics taken they use darkroom

I don't post on IG or Twitter. At one point I had toyed with the idea of setting up an IG specifically for photography but decided not to. I think if I get better (especially if I were to win an award from something I shot), I'm just going to set up a website like this cat and roll that way.

Speaking of which, shameless plug!

Follow your boy on the gram. I recently made an IG for my street photography.

Picked this joint up a couple of days ago. $200 at a pawn shop. They got a few Canon prime lenses there I'mma check out tomorrow after the gym. I really needed this replacement for my 75-300 kit lens. I have a real love hate relationship with it 'cause sometimes I can pull off some pretty decent shots with it and other times the chromatic aberration and bokeh is so bad I wanna throw the shit into the river.

Taking them both out tomorrow to see what's what.

Just realized I never addressed this shit.

The Canon 75-300 was having issues with chromatic aberration (aka that shitty purple and green fringing) when out from about 200mm to 300mm, so that's why I bought the Tamron 70-300 as it's supposed to be a lot better. It's MUCH better.

I took this with the Canon 75-300 kit lens:

As you can see, there's purple around the edges where a dark object meets the overcast, white sky.

This was taken with the Tamron 70-300 immediately after:

No purple fringing at all. I've taken some good shots with the Tamron, in fact, most of what I've posted this year in the Pic thread have been shot with the Tamron.

Anybody shoot film?

Im thinking about getting a backup camera and been looking into film cameras.

The only drawback I see so far is the scanning process.

I have two older film cameras in storage that I'm going to put back into rotation when I finally bring my stuff back: a Canon Sureshot Zoom-S and a Polaroid 3600AF.

I don't have any pics I've shot with either of them (in storage), but these are examples:

Apparently these were taken with the 3600AF as well

It took a few months, but I finally created the recipes( custom settings in a Fujifilm camera ) that fit the look I’m going for.
