this version of Melo I do hate because I do recognize he’s talented but he holds himself back so much when he really has no reason to
He just needs like a real hard nosed culture, really tough vets, and some real consequences for his actions that he never had before. He needs to be held accountable
Charles Lee seems like the right coach for him but I don’t think he alone is enough.
It’s bad enough that every other player on the team drafted or traded there after him looks up to him so much as the leader when he’s not a good one imo.
It’s frustrating for me because he’s in his 5th year. In a sense it feels like arrested development. I just want him to grow up
Another example is pre lebron Kyrie was flashy as well. Moreso dribbling than passing like Lamelo but when Lebron came he toned it down and made his movements more intentional while still being flashy.
Lamelo just has to tone his game down and save all that shit for certain moments during games and shit like allstar weekend (if he ever goes again)
Until he becomes more Intentional I don’t think he can be the best player on a team which is why I’m all for him leaving and miller gets the team and Lamelo can become the 2nd or 3rd best player somewhere else. I feel like it’ll help him out tremendously. Charlotte is way too much of a comfort zone. He’s been losing with no real expectations and can come in and do whatever he wants for 5 years now
