...so what's the solution?
Have Black American families with good jobs, stability, high education and decent to above average wealth levels so Black American children won't sit around, watching TV and social media, hoping to become famous in order to make it out of a fucked up situation.
They become highly compensated and specialized employees, and transition to create businesses like multi-media companies, social media platforms, and consumer technology companies. Some of these survive, some of them don't, some get acquired, some thrive on their own.
You run this simulation a couple of times over the course of 25 to 100 years, you'll end up with movie and TV studios, production companies, talent agencies ran by Black Americans.
This will require us being good at politics and being able to secure goods jobs and good education for ourselves because you can't really make good art that people are willing to value and cherish without it lol.
The suggestion that a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actress just get up and make their own production company, write her own movies and then director them in order to have a fair salary just shows how much we don't understand how the world actually works lol.
Taraji P. Henson did her job, she became a great actress despite spending most of her career in shit TV shows and movies. We didn't do our job of advocating for and winning concession elves so when our creative class does move out in the world, they actually some shit to actually work with instead of crawling at the bottom for years, having to play catch up in salary.
Lol, like there's a reason why Ryan Coogler is stuck making shitty franchise movies instead of writing his own shit, it doesn't fucking pay. Every half-assed decent director is making franchise movies now since Hollywood is obsessed with overseas money.
