FEATURED Is Matriarchy Being Pushed In The Black Community?

test
lmao at your examples. Nigga one is a cover about a movie literally called the woman king.. we gon act like queens never existed and powerful women only being pushed to the black community?

And we all know why that Black Panther 2 poster is the way it is.. lol foh fam.

I just thought it was funny that we highlight and repost mad negative shit and be like yooooo theres an agenda to get us to look at this negative shit!

To answer the question tho nah I dont think it's being pushed. It aint a one size fits all thing. Some households do well with the woman in charge.. some do well with the man in charge.. some 50/50.. and some households dont have no choice or say in the matter. I dont think one is being pushed above the other tho. Just my two cents

I dont even know what this is spos to mean but i'll see myself out 🤣

lol I only used those examples to get the thread started, there’s many more.

It’s a multi layered conversation. Before anything, the conversation of which method (matriarchy, patriarchy,50/50) is best for our community should be had.

Has the goal for our women to be independent career women done more harm than good?

Do you feel like anything has ever been pushed via media?

My reasoning has a large part to do with the point I made, that you can lay things out one by one and people will agree with what you said and when you take all the pieces to out them together they’ll say the brick wall is cheesecloth.
So your Saying on this site people will agree to small shit but won’t admit to the bigger picture made of all the small points they agree with?

Absolutely. Even something as simple as BM being pushed out of the homes. Why would they do that if not to dismantle the black family base?

I dont think it's a one size fits all typa situation personally. No household is the same. Different shit works for different people. Far as im concerned if it works for you and no-one is being harmed.. do ya thing

Ehhh I think everybody whether male or female needs to be independent. Things happens.. dont let your situation go to shit because you as a grown adult were relying on someone else for EVERYTHING. I think you can be independent and still work together with your partner as a team.

For sure.. just look at music.. they push all sorts of trash.. dont mean we gotta buy into it tho

how many of yall on here were raised by just women? whether it be ya moms or ya nana? Was matriarchy being pushed back then or was it just the situation yall found yourselves in?

It's more excused than pushed

Like if you run into a family where it's clear that the matriarch movement is strong.... No one will fault you for trying to be the man there

No lol literally women black Wo em on the internet begging men every single day to just do right yea some are birds who wanna change a man like Future into Russel but I don’t think it’s a matriarchy at all. We live in a patriarch society it’s just we have bad relationships with each other. Black folks have low self esteem and see other black folks as a problem that can’t be helped that’s our main issue. This gender war shit is bullshit

I mean at some point yall WE gotta consider are we the ones doing the so-called "pushing"

Niggas like the shit they say they hate

Like we all know one parent household is stressful I don’t think people wake and hope for that. But it’s to the point where they know it’s going to happen.

I dunno. I can only speak about how I grew up. It was 50/50 in my house. Dad worked. Mama took care of the house. Traditional shyt. It was like that until my Mama passed. So my Dad had to do both. Work and take care of home.

Luckily my family kinda live by the "It takes a village..." mantra. So he had help. Also when my Mama, me and Sis was at that age where he could leave us home by ourselves while he was working. Or leave us at our Auntie's house. But to say there's an agenda purposely being pushed...meh. I don't see it.

If anything I think the households in a lot of black communities is based off the situation they're put in. A lot of black mothers have to be the heads of households b/c of that. But like someone mentioned earlier, that falls on both the man and woman.

Some ladies choose to be in that lifestyle because the often see the ones forced into it, making it work.
The problem is people not being truthful about the struggles. I can see a lady saying she don’t need a man as a defensive mechanism to survive and also because she’s feed up with the type guys she picks. So the latter is more about selection vs what’s not needed.

Then think about what’s being seen as far as black male leadership.

what are we doing to change shit?.
We are constantly under attack and questioned and killed and incarcerated and undermined. We look at each other as a problem or not to be trusted while giving others grace.

I can see how some ladies see confusion with us.

What are we standing on as black men and leaders?
Everyone out for self. So we can’t get but so mad at the ladies for doing it?

Matter of fact how many of y’all really on the village shit?
